I would love some reassurances here!

Basic background:

I was F1 student from Canada, married an awesome guy in the US and filed an AoS (I-485, I-130), including a request for EAD(I-765) and AP (I131).  Received Date for my paperwork was June 22, 2017. Living the newlywed life in the Bay Area California, so I assume everything is processing through there.  Had my biometrics, no problem. We had a lawyer look over paperwork, so far no RFIEsyet.  Getting everything together took longer than expected, leading to my problem…..

Problem:

I really, really, really want to go to my brother’s wedding in Canada.  When I started this all, 90ish days for AP (and EAD etc) was standard, so I booked us tickets for Oct 4th, tight… but doable.  Since then it seems like the wait time has climbed out of the range where I can go (VJ says 118 days).

Is there any way I can ask for expedite processing?

The list of reasons seems to not include family obligations, could be considered Humanitarian reasons (ie. It would be the kind thing to do)?

On a related note:  An advice on getting an InfoPass appointment? I’ve been stalking their page and nothing seems available.

I know I can’t come back to the US without my AP documents… but can I leave?  Ie. If by some miracle I know my AP stuff is in the mail to my US residence, can I have a friend pick it up and mail it to me in Canada for me to re-enter?

I think you already know the answer to expediting the process. Wanting to go to your brother's wedding is not a humanitarian reason. Just poor planning on your part.

You shouldn't risk leaving. You exit and entry is recorded (I-94). If you leave before your AP they will know. In fact, you can look up your own travel history yourself. https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/history-search

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Don't leave without AP.  Unfortunately that probably means missing your brother's wedding.  While it sucks, I'm sure he will understand.  If not, well I haven't talked to my brother beyond Merry Christmas, and Happy Birthday, in over 5 years because of my decision to move to the USA and his anger regarding that decision (and all it entails.)  We were close before, and have lived together as adults.  Life goes on.  C'est la vie.
