Wow ! Let's just hope for the best. Mine's a second SD too

Absolutely! I don't understand why the pcc is lost so often, and I've seen it happen a lot with Nigeria unfortunately-idk what that's about

Out of all of the papers we send, why are so many pcc's lost?

For anyone who comes after us, make sure you put your case number on every page you send the NVC to avoid a checklist

Do you guys know if they set up the interview appointment while they review the case or do they wait to complete the case to set the appointment at the consulate?

They don't schedule until pre processing is complete.

So that means more waiting even after the case is complete :/

Unfortunately yes, the amount of time you wait after pre processing depends on your country and how many dates they have open for interviews. Some will get Thier date a couple days or weeks after and some can wait months. Also depends on when your case gets completed. It looks like nvc schedules for the following month the first two weeks of every month (4-6 weeks ahead usually). So if you get completed in the middle of the month you might have to wait until the following month to be scheduled for the month after that. Unless they have extra slots from the previous month. No way to really predict when. You can look at other timelines from your country though to see how long the majority wait.

Good luck!

I am hoping that I can get some assistance on this forum.

I have already paid the AOS and IV fees and I have already completed the DS-260 application. Now I am getting ready to send the documents to NVC.

There are 2 document cover sheets. One is for the AOS package and the other is for the IV package. Both cover sheets essentially say the same thing.

For the AOS cover sheet, I would check enclosed what is available for what concerns the petitioner and check off as not applicable such things as marriage certificate, birth certificate, passport information, etc?

Thank you.

Hi all,

i have a question regarding a document. Called today the American embassy of my country and they told me there is a specific document that is requaried in front of the embassy. I didn't know about it and we already sent the package. Our scan date is Aug 6. Is it ok if I sent it now and call NVC?at the embassy they said they are the only one that will look at it but I don't want check list from NVC.

Thanks !!

That might be a good idea to send it to NVC since it wouldn't change your scan date much and you caught it early, which will save you so much time. I assume NVC will ask for it since they collect all the paperwork for the embassy, but u can always call NVC to confirm and/or check the website to see exactly what format of the  documents your country requires

Never can be too careful 🙂
