Shipping belongings to USA

I know there are a couple old threads on how to ship items.  This is more of a "should we even try?" question.

I am just wondering what the general consensus is about the clothes and items that my fiancé and family have in Manila.  With the vast knowledge here what has your experience been.  They are quite limited in what they can bring on the plane.  I'm thinking a small package with some of their favorite clothes and of course, the karaoke machine!!!!

Are we better off leaving all that any buying new in the States?

You can buy a Magic Sing or other brands of karaoke machine (with Tagalog songs) easily in the USA ... just saying.

As for shipping I would look to LBC

Thank you again.  I will check out the karaoke.  If it weren't for that we might not to ship anything.  Maybe they can sell it there and we will buy one here.

Try looking for the one Hank suggested and show her the cost, then show t he e cost to ship hers. Sensible women can see that she needs to own a new one here in the States.

What airlines will she be flying? United lets you take 2 bags up to 50 lbs plus carry on.

You also have to check if it's 110AC or 220. If it's 220 then it won't work in the USA, my asawa found that out the hard way with a hair straightener that she loved.

I have more converters here because of stuff I shipped over that are 110

I'm trying to convince her to leave it but it is the first thing she bought with her own money after her husband left.  It is old but she may just have to try to make room for it in the luggage.  I will not take that away from her.  It is a point of pride.  We will make it work.
