Hi guys need your help so bad . Im smoker im scared that ill fail my medical in slec i only have few days left to attend my medical exam and im so worried

making me terrified coz i have  read many comments for those who fail medical exam ...  thinking that  they might find a spot on my lungs cause of cigarettes.

Good to see I'm not the only one paranoid.

I'll be so happy once this medical is done and there's no evil spots on my xray.

Although it's unlikely since I don't feel sick (at least not more than usual) I'm freaking out since we sent the petition in March
I hope my medical will happen next week, so I can get that rock off my shoulders.

Everyone is paranoid about the medical exam. Smoking shouldn't make a difference, you hear tons of horror stories.

However, my fiance had her medical and had no issues at all. She doesn't smoke, but she said she didn't even see anyone who didn't pass the medical.

Usually the negative effects show up age you age. You look young.

 

But you should be aware that in the US, fewer and fewer places allow smoking, in many areas it is not socially acceptable, some employers will screen for smoking and forbid it on the job, and some insurance companies will not give you health insurance or you will be asked to pay a higher rate. Think about quitting soon! It's the healthy and smart thing to do.

Hi databit>  i'm trying hard not to smoke until im done with my medical . i DONT  have any health problem .  BUT  hoping i can quit before i even leave the PHils.. Is not easy in my part coz i  been smoking since i was 17 i guess or earlier and im 25 now so its long time

I've emailed the clinic I'm doing the medical at, to ask for a current list, because I wasn't sure since I've heard they changed something.

Don't worry too much. I smoked for ten years before I quit in December of 2015. My x-ray in June 2016 came out just fine, they even said they look healthy. 
The only thing the panel physician asked was, "Do you smoke cigarettes?" "No, but I used to. I quit about a half a year ago." "That's really good!" and we continued the list of questions.

I'm smoking for the double time you did, and I hope it still will be fine. If I'm lucky I get to have my medical next week, so I'll finally have these tons of rocks off my shoulders.
