Did he e-sign at the end of the interview?  At the top of the screen would have listed his name as it will appear on the certificate.

We're not entirely sure how ours will play out (continuous residence: technically, she was never gone for more than 6 months in any one trip, but there were successive absences of approximately 2, 3, 1 and 4 months within an 11-month span while we were abroad together for my research grant—she returned to the US briefly three times during those 11 months for school/work). But it's certainly worth a try. The physical presence days are fine. We'll update how it goes.

 

I have the same thing going on about my traveling. I had one big trip of 8 months but at this time I had a White Passport made so that should not be a problem (thats what my lawyer said...).

i know that trips outside of US are very important for Officers so thats why I have proofs that I did not abandon US.

Even outside of Us you have to proof that you had strong reletionship with this country. For example that you were paying credit cards bills or car or insurance.

The e-sign wasn't working, so they had him sign physical papers. But yes, he said it had both last names :'(

Just got back from my interview in the New York field office, everything went smoothly and my application was approved. The officer was very friendly and respectful, and the process was a pleasant one. I got some electronic case updates within an hour and ELIS now shows "USCIS has scheduled your oath ceremony and will mail you the appointment notice." It seems same-day oath ceremonies are never available in New York. Glad to be through the hardest bit!

 

The only interesting thing to report is that the interview took a little longer than expected because they are rolling out new software for the officers to use and I was the first person to be put through it - maybe allow more time if your interview is in the next week or two.

Good luck for today and let us know how it went! I'll have the interview at the same FO so any tips you can share would be appreciated  I'm a paper filer though so it will take forever to schedule my interview lol

Just got a Case Update Notification, and logged in to see " USCIS has scheduled your oath ceremony and will mail you the appointment notice."  Since the name change fell through (so irritating), the process is going alot faster than we expected. I'm hoping in another day or two I'll be able to view the notice online.
