anybody know what "bad luck" comes along with losing your wedding ring? My husband was out playing catch with his brother today and hours later he realised that he'd lost his ring. Probably came off when taking his glove off during their game of catch. They went out with flashlights a little while ago to go search the field at their grandparents house but didn't find anything. So tomorrow in day light we're gonna go looking. Only problem being we live in upstate NY and the North Easter is supposed to hit us with some heavy snow starting tomorrow morning. Hopefully we get there in time and we can find it. I feel like ... and he feels like ..... too. All I wanna do is cry.

Why should you experience bad luck? Of course, quite rightly you are both upset, but, when all is said and done, it's only the physical symbol of your love. Losing it changes nothing and you can replace it if you fail to find it.

I know, losing stuff is a pain, but it's not the end of the world. I still wish you the best finding it though. :)

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

not to say that we'll experience bad luck. But you know those old wives tales, ie. walking under a ladder, breaking a mirror = 7 years bad luck. Just wondering if there were any of those, although we aren't superstitious at all.

Thanx for your kind words though, it is only a symbol, and our is still STRONG, but we can still only hope we find it.

Last summer, we were playing water volleyball out on Cape Cod and one of the people in our party lost both her engagement ring and wedding ring in the water. Hours later someone came along with a metal detector and managed to find them for her.

You might want to try to get a hold of one or someone who has one. Hope this idea helps you and good luck.

We had a similar experience with my nephew. His ring flew off when he was playing with our dog out on a nature trail. We searched and searched and found nothing. Too much tall grass and weeds. The next day we went back with a metal detector. In fact the guy who owned the metal detector went with us. Found the ring! This happened to be a very high quality detector and of course the owner was experienced in using it.

When my nephew got the ring back he had it resized so that it would no longer be too loose.

Even if it does snow you can try with the metal detector after it melts.

I lost my ring about two weeks after getting married. As my wife said, it's not the ring itself that's important, just what it stands for. I've never worn any jewelery in my life, not even a watch, I'm now used to the ring and it feels weird when it is off my finger.

I lost my engagement ring in the water. I was trying so hard to look for it and people there were helping me. Unfortunately i didn't find it and i was stung by a jellyfish after that, as painful as i lost my ring(how's that double bad luck?). But i don't believe in it. My USC fiance told me as long as i am ok. But i felt naked there was no more ring on my finger.

Ok

First, metal detector. I found mine in one of 18 bags of garbage on tuesday, after the resturant had been closed since Friday on Labor day weekend. Ewwww.

Second, no matter what happens in life, loss of a wedding ring, spent tooth paste tube not tossed away, ...remember....

This is not cancer.

In my life I have a ton of stress and I must say this to myself to remind myself, life goes on, how upset can I get over this.

Most of my stress, self employment, money, taxes, deadlines.....upset people, customers yelling..blah blah blah blah....

This is not cancer.

Have a great marriage.

Hi, I hope you can find your ring, but if you are worried about bad luck I would like to comment you that my parents have been married for 45 years, my father is using his 3rd ring, first got broken, second one got lost, with everything that can happen in 45 years I think they have a great marriage, I don't think that loosing the rings have given them any bad luck at all.

If was in his grandparents backyard, chances are you will find it, even after the snow melts... I wouldn't worry too much... And about good luck.... well both my parents lost/got their rings stolen and they are still married and happy! So chin up!
