Well I got this now:

On February 26, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WACXXXXXXXXXX, at your local office. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Seems like almost everyone is getting this message. Btw this is the receipt number of the NOA1, the second one still says we received your form CRI-89 blah blah. :D

Mine says the same thing. And I checked the numbers around mine, they all say the same thing. It's really odd that we are getting the same message and on the exact same day which is the day we decided to check on NOA1 number. Very very strange.

There's talk about this in December 2017 filers too.  They've got the same messages too.  There's some theory as to some policy changes happening to cause I-751 filers to be adjudicated at local office. I wish we could get more concrete evidence of this.  If this is true, would this have any affect on filing the N-400 using the 90 day window?

What are you talking about regarding 'checked the numbers around mine'?

You mean you can check on USCIS websites regarding other people's status . . . where can you do this?

And what do you mean 'check on NOA1 number'?

You mean you made a phone call to USCIS ?

And actually I don't understand much of anything about the last 4 or 5 messages here by people saying they all are receiving this type of message.

Are they letters coming to your addresses, emails, notices appearing on USCIS websites . . . or what ?

It would be helpful if someone typed out a fairly complete message outlining exactly what contact they made, to whom, regarding what, and the sequence of what resulted in terms of phone conversations, messages on websites, letters received at home addresses, etc.

Right now it is very confusing.

Thanks, Leo

Hi Leo,

If you go to the Check Case Status page on the USCIS site (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do) and enter the receipt number that’s on your extension letter (AKA the one that’s always been useless before, not sure if you did or did not successfully get a biometrics appointment notice but if you did then you’ll remember that there were two receipt numbers on there and only the second one could be used to check your case status online, while the first one was identical to the one on the extension letter and only resulted in an error message when entered online) then you should be able to see what everybody is talking about. That previously invalid receipt number now seems to result in most of us across many months of filing getting the message that our case was transferred and/or received by our local field office sometime between Feb. 24 and today. The question now is whether or not it means anything or was just some sort of systemwide glitch given that it seems to have happened to everybody within the span of a couple of days.

Hope that helps!

Hi Leo,

What I meant by checking numbers around me is that if my NOA 1 number is WACXXXXX6, I will check WACXXXXX7 or 8 or 9 to see what is the status of those numbers.

No letters or messages. Just check the receipt number from the Notification 1 letter on USCIS website.

OK, thanks for writing a complete message !!

Yes, I knew the  correct procedure to enter the receipt number that came on  the BIO notice and not the number that came on the NOA for I-751.

And I always had heard here that if someone put the number from I-751, then the system would just say 'No such number.'

So it was very confusing how people  were getting  this message about their files being transferred to local office . . . when  they used this previously 'invalid' number.

Thanks much again.  Leo

Very strange that any of us can check on the status of someone else, even as we don't know the name of  that person.

Just yesterday, I called my health ins company just to find out if they received my payment.

Before they  would even  tell me such a thing . . . after I had already told them my name and account number . . . I had to tell my phone number, my address, my zip  code, my date of birth and when I last had sex.

But yet our most secure agency USCIS, will reveal to any and all the status of someone else's case ????

Mine has also been sent to local office. I've been lurking in thread from March-June 2017, almost everyone got the same message. I don't think it's necessary for interview (no way they would be able to handle all ROC interviews with current 1 year long AOC interview). One guy got approved 2 days after got this message, none received anything regards to RFE or interviews. It's now depend on how long the backlog for your local office is, that's about it.

I entered the other NOA1 number that was previously not usable, and we also are seeing the message that our file has been transferred to the local office.  "We will prepare your case for officer review."   That was nice to see and hopefully mean we get ours done soon (?)

K-1 Visa -  Date of arrival to US  Aug 30, 2014

Married September 26, 2014

AOS: SEPT 24th, 2015 GREEN CARD RECEIVED !!

ROC:  Oct 10, 2018    Approval of ROC via online USCIS site.

Naturalization: March 26th, 2021 Approved!!

As of 2022, we are working towards moving back to Australia likely in 2025.

Yours actually say " We will prepare for your case for officer review" ? Mine doesnt say that. It just says transferred to local office and asks me to notify them if I moved.

You have to log in to your USCIS account to see " we will prepare..etc..".  "My Case Status" doesn't indicate that, only that the case was transferred to your local office.
