Hi All,

Just heard back from my immigration attorney regarding this matter. She basically half confirmed this. She said there has been a change on USCIS policy that they are going to interview all I751s, which is why the cases are transferred. But as we see earlier, they didnt interview Tcarrol. So I think that yes, cases are transferred but not necessarily we are all going to be interviewed.

But some who got message of transfer and then went to their local office were told that no such files had been transferred to those local offices.

Same story! Used to say Feb 26, now it’s March 4. It’s getting more and more interesting 😀

Yup. Mine said Feb 26th before and then it changed to March 4th. SO I have no idea what's going on. I feel like from everything I've  read here, USCIS notifies by mail better than online. LOL

Hi babe2012, it appears that many of us I-751 filers, recent and past, have received these messages only when checking online.  While nothing has been totally confirmed by USCIS (even tier 2 agents are giving mixed messages) via email or snail mail we are hopeful this is a sign that USCIS is dispersing workloads from VSC and CSC and sending our apps to local offices.  This is a USCIS office near you that handles infopass appts, interviews, etc.  There should be one close to you or within a couple of hours.  In your case, since your from CA, I have no idea which would be yours as I would suspect there are several nearby.

There are 2 numbers associated with your case.  The 1st WAC is receipt of your case received and payment made, the 2nd indicates your biometrics appt.  Some people have  'transferred to local offices' when checking both numbers while others only get the message with the 1st WAC.  It is still unconfirmed what both messages mean, only time will tell.  I have read that at least 2 people have received confirmation of their 10 GC being granted since this message first originated on Feb 26, but it hasn't been confirmed as to why when people back in Oct/Nov/Dec are still waiting.

There are several threads associated to this topic under ROC, you might find them informative.

Great info! Thank you! I wonder why do  my numbers (both) on the biometrics notice start with EAC? I have no WAC anywhere!

From what I understand, WAC = CSC, and EAC = VSC

Service Center: CSC
First 5 Digits from WAC/EAC Receipt #: WAC17289XXXXX
NOA1 Date: July 17, 2017
Filed N-400?: No
Case Transferred?:  "Case Was Received at My Local Office" - Feb. 26

If yes, provide to what service center? On what date?:  N/A

Approved?:  Not Yet.

If yes, what was the date of your approval?:

If yes, did you have a RFE (Request for Evidence)? On what date?:

If yes, did you have an interview? On what date?:

Supposedly, an October 2017 filer received the same letter of approval, without new biometrics.  Perhaps these are all good signs for everyone.

All it means is the Vermont Service Center (for those who filed there) have had there paperwork forwarded to the regional service office that will take care of them.  There paper work is now at the bottom of the in basket and will work its way to the top.

Now some offices are no doubt busier than others which can explain why some people appear to leap frog over others in the queue

Just saying.....we hired an immigration lawyer back when applying for I-130 and our file was transferred 3 times and before it landed at the local office.  While she was good we found that she did not know everything about USCIS (nor for that matter brought us closer to approval) even though she thought she had back door access. In the end, it wasn't her that got our case resolved it was us forging ahead making inquires and being persistent with info pass appts.  It also helped that I was (ironically) present for most of them and once it was with the manager at the local office.

While it does sound plausible and there could be truth to your lawyer's statement I would be hesitant on counting my chickens before they're hatched.

Thanks for taking the time to share.

Hey, I received one of these notices too. It seems my local office is a number of several, or the one listed on the processing time guide webpage, isn't listed and doesn't exist when i search via my zipcode. Any idea how i figure out which one is my local office? It says to me it is Alexandria, but that isn't in the list

That's because babe2012 file was at the California Service Centre.  Since your on the east coast you're  center would be the Vermont Service Centre.  Codes are different.

Guess you probably figured this one out by now.
