The K3 is not faster. It USED to be faster, which is why it was created. But now the CR1 is taking the same if not less amount of time. Hence the reason the K3 is deemed obsolete. There are only a very small percentage who get approved for a K3. All others have their K3 converted to a CR1 anyway.

It's still on the books, yes. Therefore, they must make it available still. But almost every petitioner going this path has it administratively closed at NVC in the past few years. There were 102 K-3s issued worldwide last fiscal year...compared to over 130,000 CR-1/IR-1s and 38,000.K-1s. It's a relic from back when CR-1/IR-1 was taking multiple years for approval. Now the difference in processing time between a K-1 and CR-1 is a few months.

Sorry about that. Since you are now married, you can withdraw the K1 and now File the CR1.

Thank you for the information, So just put in CR-1 and wait for outcome is the way to go.  I have just mailed the official request to stop the K1 review process.

I did file that K3 and to my surprise, It was tied together with our i-130. Both applications were granted on the same day but NVC just only pursue the I-130 and forget about the K3. So you can just file for CR1 and forget about the K3, it's obsolete

There is no K1 review process. ALL K1's refused and returned to USCIS will be purposely expired and a letter from USCIS
will be send stating that to the petitioner after about 6 months.
Years ago they were reviewed but due to a law suit they are now purposely expired. Whoever is telling you they are reviewed does not
know what they are talking about (that includes senator aids). Some CO's still send letters out talking about review because no
one has changed the template on the letters so it is general outdated templates.
Forget the K3.
File a CR1.
When filing a I-130 petition with path to a CR1 application then the I-129 that led to the K1 refusal, the I-129 (K1) does not
need to be withdrawn when filing for the same beneficiary. A refused K1 will be dead on arrival, nothing to withdraw.
With a different beneficiary (which is not the case here) it should be withdrawn as it can cause issues for the petitioner
and the beneficiary on their second go around with someone else.

we have some issues with RFE and also they said we were randomly chosen for extended background checks, so if took us about 9 months to have  our I-130 approved and the NVC just take about 2.5 months

From filing to interview for your embassy about 12-16 months. Front load your petition with quality relationship evidence and frequent
evidence of visits.
