Hi all!

I'm back with more questions. I've been contacted by the embassy so now my partner and I are working on all needed documents. I have a question about the Affidavit of Support. Is it necessary to fill out information about real estate, mortgage, savings etc. if he makes enough money annually? I ask because he recently bought a house, so there's mortgage and all that stuff now - is there a need to put that in there at all? Should he put down that he now has property anywhere, and how exactly would you go about that in the form?

One more question: There's a part that says "I intend/do not intend to make specific contributions to the person named in Part 2". I will be living with him and even though I'll have savings I'm sure he'll be the one taking care of most stuff with regard to the house. Do we just ignore this question or what?

Thank you in advance! I can't wait to be done with all these documents so that I can finally be ready for the interview.

I would list all the savings and everything anyway. It's asking if you have it, you don't need to provide all the bank statements if he makes enough. However, more is always better.

The intend part I put I intend. Then on the last page with the description I wrote all tickets, food, housing and any other necessities she may need. Some put N/A on that part.

About other assets, I was informed by a senior VJer that I can skip those if my fiancé makes more than the poverty level :) So there's really a choice for that. It's not wrong if you don't include those.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

I keep asking this to people, lol. We plan in using only income since it suffices and my fiance is low on savings. Would you leave those spaces blank or use N/A?

Great, thank you. I just started to have doubts because of what the instructions for the new form say about how to fill in everything with none or N/A. Way too much :P

I felt the same way too and was freaking out. And gosh I didn't really want my fiancé to put all the financial info out there since his annual income is more than sufficient.

I don't think he minds showing his savings, but I was worried about putting down the mortgage and debt because as you know, buying a house is not so cheap... So if we do decide to provide that information, would we list the estate information, and also mortgage and debt information? Would that require additional documents? I guess for me, if it's possible, I wouldn't provide that info as he makes enough to pay his mortgage and live comfortably anyway.

Thank you all!! That's all really helpful. I can't wait to go to the interview! My 2 year rule from my J1 is expiring on June 17, so we're not in a rush with contacting the embassy yet, even though we have most of the documents. Anyone went to the Belgrade embassy for interview? I wonder if the interview date is close to the date they receive my letter saying that I'm ready...

Taken from instruction page of I-864.

Part 7. Use of Assets to Supplement Income (Optional)

Only complete Part 7. if you need to use the value of assets to meet the income requirements. If your Current Annual Household Income (indicated on Part 6., Item Number 15.) is equal to or more than needed to meet the income requirement as shown by the current Federal Poverty Guidelines (Form I-864P) for your household size (indicated on Part 5., Item Number 8.), you do not need to complete this Part.
