kasowitz seems to be threatening a lawsuit against Comey (hahaha), however this is only a threat as a lawsuit would force trump to give a sworn deposition...also sloppy work from the street fighter...the NYT never quoted memos prior to trump's tweets5/12, first story 5/16. Many high quality white shoe lawyers passed on chance to rep trump.

Even though he was tracking all these "suspicious" conversations with Trump he still said he would have kept his job to this day and said nothing. He needed to grow a pair and report the President if he felt there was any wrong doing. Clearly he was doing a little damage recovery for himself today, remains to be seen how that goes.

There seemed to be a lot of sour grapes from a disgruntled fired employee, who -- as the heart of the matter -- served at the pleasure of his boss.  The fired employee lost a position of high pay, prestige, and visibility -- which he apparently valued more than the alleged improprieties or illegalities that weren't serious enough to bring to light until he was fired.  Even then, he avoided proper channels and gave his information (opinions?) to an unrelated private party who released it to a dedicated media enemy of the former boss.  Now, how noble or classy is that sort of behavior?

 

Any worthwhile investigation would have been continued by others after the firing of the one employee.  Furthermore, in terms of accusations, it's the boss' word against the fired employee's word.  In addition, what human being with any brain could mistake "I hope that you..." for "I order you..."?

 

The FBI Director is not above the President.  After J. Edgar Hoover's excesses became clear, steps were taken to limit the influence of the FBI Director, and it's unclear that anything has happened since to re-expand that influence.

 

Nothing in the testimony changes my conclusion that the fired employee's complaints were about his former boss' administrative and communication style, versus anything of legal relevance.

Comey's testimony doesn't put matters to rest. On the contrary it raises more questions as to why Trump would have attempted to interfere, and if that is to be accepted in this country. 

Like when George H.W. Bush effectively ended the Casper Weinberger affair which very easily could have led to him?  He did say he hoped the whole Flynn thing would go away which actually is within his power as many speculated Obama should have done with Hillary with a preemptive pardon.  Trump did not pardon Flynn preemptively, so where is the obstruction since Trump was not a subject of this affair.  Comey and others have said President Trump never asked to stop the Russian investigation, he only asked Comey to come out and publicly announce he wasn't a target which Comey confirmed.  I know the MDL wants to believe the whole collusion narrative because that is their only explanation for Hillary losing, but Russia and the Trump team did not need to collude for Hillary to lose, the Russian government could be doing this all on their own to create chaos in the US which is exactly what is happening.

 

Comey does look like someone who was doing anything to keep his job, and now a disgruntled ex-employee (does anyone who is fired think the firing is just).  If Hillary had won, he would have been taking notes as well from any meetings in a vain attempt to CYA.
