I highly recommend going through embassy reviews and your country/area forum. Find out if this is a common request for your embassy or not.

I did download my whole Facebook page (there is a download function hidden somewhere) and pulled out a few chat pages and printed those. Took me several hours and a lot of storage. It was for my own piece of mind, but in the end my interview went exactly like everybody here stated. And no one was even remotely interested in the stuff.

Flag shows NZ so I am assuming that we are dealing with a Kiwi.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Since we used different ways to communicate, we made sure we covered the full 2+ years using screenshots from various apps. For example, we would screenshot a conversation in Oct. on WhatsApp, and a conversation from Nov. on FB. We used screenshots from our cell phones, and this seemed to work well. We also took screenshots of any social media events. We organized everything based on the app we used.

For my petition I used the computer as you said and jumped up with key words and then put the mouse on the text so the date would show, and then I just took a pic with my phone of the computer screen.  I had the colour in messenger as blue and printed it in black and white so it was easier to read.  As others said you might not need it for the interview (and everything I've read about canada says I won't either), but I'm still bringing some text history just to be safe.

I spent hours combing through fb conversations and organising photos and skype calls and they didnt even look at them....

Its better to have them just in case but from what I can tell (in Australia anyway) they're mainly concerned with the fact that you've met each other in real life at least once.
