Unless you're self employed, your 2016 tax return is not evidence of current income.  What did you say your current income was?  It should be stated as what you will make at the same pay rate in the next 12 months.  Current income has nothing to do with YTD or last year.

Just to clarify as long as I submitted evidence of my current income I should be okay? My tax return shows around 16k for last year since I was hired in August, but in my school district I'm contracted for around 42k. I sent my contract, employment letter, pay stubs, and a letter from a supervisor indicating that my contract will be renewed. I'm just trying to understand my likeliness of getting a RFE and having to get a joint sponsor.

Is there any time frame to send All Docs to NVC ..my case is similar to your case

I don't think there is a specific time frame. The only thing I have read is that if you go more than a year without activity the NVC will terminate the case, but otherwise I think you can take as long as you need/want. I only waited because my husband's police certificate took longer to get than we expected.

As long as you can provide evidence of your yearly income with the contract and pay stubs, youe chance of a checklist is so slim Id say none

For example, my husband was employed sept 2012. We sent 6 months of pay stubs, which included his yearly salary on them, and did not recieve a checklist and did not have any issues at consulate (which is where the decision is made anyhow.)

With at least 2 months Paystubs, After sending ALL Docs to NVC by the Interview time WE can show 6 Months Paystubs to Office..This also works right NikLR

You must respond to NVC requests within one year.

And you stated your current income at the $42k figure as well?  Probably OK, yes, unless Tunis is one of the tax return focused Consular IV units.  Check with the regional forum on that.

Actually, they focus more on tax returns than other Consular Immigrant Visa Units, as a matter of policy, focus more on tax returns than the vast majority of such units.  However, if current income does not qualify, nothing on any past tax return will overcome that.
