It will be interesting to observe how the MOR/MDR will treat McCain, who they once supported for POTUS. Chances are McCain will be sacrificed in the altar of alternate facts of high priestess Conway. No one should be spared when it comes to pleasing the supreme leader.

WASHINGTON — Republicans on Sunday inched away from President Trump amid mounting evidence that he may have sought to interfere in the federal investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

“If any president tries to impede an investigation — any president, no matter who it is — by interfering with the F.B.I., yes, that would be problematic,” Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, who is on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “It would be not just problematic. It would be, obviously, a potential obstruction of justice that people have to make a decision on.”

Mr. Rubio and other Republicans hewed to a line repeated often on Capitol Hill last week: that they need more information about Mr. Comey’s termination, particularly in light of a report by The New York Times that Mr. Trump told Russian officials during an Oval Office meeting that Mr. Comey was a “nut job” and that his firing had “taken off” the pressure on the president.

While calling such disclosures to reporters “disgraceful,” Senator John McCain of Arizona said he was at a loss for how to explain Mr. Trump’s remarks.

Meanwhile the so-called president tries to deflect attention from the scandal in DC, by taking a trip to the Middle East. Sweet!

Any Republican that takes a step back from supporting our president should be either recalled from office or primaried next year.

Why support someone that you don't believe in just for the sake of the party? I thought they were supposed to represent the people.

These republicans never really supported Trump. They might have said they did when it was politically expedient but at the end of the day they are a bunch of back stabbers.

Which is it ? Punish those who take a step back or they never did support him?

I say both honestly. We all know the ones that never really supported him and only started to because he won the presidency. Now that there is a little bit of heat they are falling like dominoes, and ripe for them to be primaried when the time comes. I know several that in are in NC alone that were all on the Trump train after he won and took over, but now he is under assault from the Left and they are utterly silent.

Of course. Party above country. That's worked beautifully in Venezuela and Cuba.

Personally, I think party over country is what is wrong with the state of politics in this country and one of the big reasons I have never formally joined any party.  In my opinion, much of this can be traced to the rise of the DNC and RNC and their influence and control over politics at all levels as well as the increase in the career politician.  So now we get this seesaw effect, when one party controls some or all of Congress, or the Presidency, and do whatever they want to implement their agendas.  I really don't care what happens to any politician that doesn't support Trump, let them be challenged in a primary, or vote them out, that is for their districts or states to decide, and one of the reasons I always laugh when someone brings up a national poll touting how low an approval rating Congress has.  That is so irrelevant as Congress people only have to please a small population of Americans, not the entire country.

When it is like that then yes I think country should be over party. But when you have one party actually trying to drum up any kind of lies and accusations to hurt the other party, then the party should stick together.

Wrong. People should stick together. This is not North Korea.

Ok, I get your point and factually it's right. But are you telling me that what the Democrats are doing is best for the country? I don't think it is because they have whipped themselves into a hysteria over some baseless accusations against the President. They are taking one guy that used to work for him and what Flynn did to try and say that it went all the way to the top.  They have been going at this for 6+ months now and not a single shred of evidence that Pres. Trump colluded with Russians.

And we don't need collusion to have these investigations
