Hi guys,

At last, our green card interview is in 3 weeks! We have already completed biometrics and we submitted an i864 Affidavit of Support in the initial i485 adjustment of status application. On our most recent i797c notice of action for our scheduled interview, it states that we dont have to bring an i864 Affidavit of Support if one has already been submitted. Does this mean we don't need to do the form again for the interview? Please help!

So it's telling you don't bring a new one if you already submitted one - and you already submitted one . . . . . . . . . . .

You don't need to take a new one. I had my AOS interview on May 18th and we took everything we had originally submitted plus more and the lady who interviewed us didn't require much. However, we submitted our application before the new tax year so if you haven't submitted your spouses 2016 tax return, I'd suggest you take a copy of that as it helps with more up to date financial support. The only new things the lady took from us were an updated police record, photos of both families meeting, joint assets and photocopies of ID.

If you already submitted the documents it's asking you to bring IF you didn't already submit them, then don't submit them — simple as that.

My interview notice just asked me to bring one, didn't say anything about having submitted it before (Which we of course had done).

So I brought a fresh copy, with accompanying evidence. The guy didn't even look at it during the interview. I assume because he already had one.

USCIS is weird...
