Guidelines state the pictures have to have been taken within the last six months.

Why anyone would go directly against USCIS instructions specifying 2 photos per application is madness. Expect an RFE, sadly.

To be fair to those who failed to put 6 photos, it's not really blatantly stated unless you go through all the forms' instructions (which is time consuming and tedious), so it's totally understandable that they didn't get to do so... Plus the instructions on visajourney.com's AOS guidelines page only state 2 passport photos - and this page is what most applicants look to when putting together their packages. :) Honestly I probably would not have put 6 photos myself if I hadn't seen a post about it here! Again, thank God for VisaJourney!

The AOS guide here on VJ clearly states the below, even linking you to pages where you can read what required documentation to send with the applications, there's nothing wrong with the guides.

13. I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, if you want to work while your application is processed (optional)
>> Include any additional required supporting documentation or photos as well as payment as noted here.
14

I-131, Application for Travel Document, if you need to travel outside the United States while your application is processed (optional)
>> Include any additional required supporting documentation or photos as well as payment as noted here.

The EAD guide is very clear as well: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3ead

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021

The AOS guide on VJ states :
2 passport photos for the I-485

and it also states:

. I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, if you want to work while your application is processed (optional)
>> Include any additional required supporting documentation or photos as well as payment as noted here.

I-131, Application for Travel Document, if you need to travel outside the United States while your application is processed (optional)
>> Include any additional required supporting documentation or photos as well as payment as noted here.

In the I-131 and I-765 instructions it clearly states 2 photos are required.

If anyone finds that reading immigration form instructions are too time consuming or tedious then they should consult an attorney.

The photos must not be older than 30 days of filing. So clearly 6 are needed. I have also seen some people not get a RFE

for 4 but I really do not understand what the back and forth is about with clear instructions given in the forms.

Alright, I stand corrected! Just trying to defend those who missed the 2 passport photos each requirement, as I feel like I would have missed it too (what with the number of things you have to submit!), had I not been more paranoid and asked many things on VJ forums~ People make mistakes all the time, it's alright, we're all going to be ok in the end, with RFEs or not haha~~ :) PEACE

I know just to be safe I am including (6) for the Beneficiary and (2) of the sponsor. I may even send (8) and (4). I get 4 for .18 cents, so why skimp.
