That doesn't even make any sense. So Clinton loses and it's because of sexism because I guess otherwise she's just such a great candidate that no other possible reason could be valid. Kinda reminds me of when anybody who didn't like Obama was called racist because we all know he's all that and a bag of chips so the only reason not to like him is if you're racist. But yet a woman can lose in France and it has absolutely nothing to do with that, it's because she's a fascist.

Le Pen is a fascist, and that's why she lost. You would need to open an investigation to ascertain whether sexism was involved.

You are correct, in regards to Le Pen. As for Clinton, you're entitled to an opinion, and in any case, this thread is not about her.

A number of voters for LePen are not Alt Right race bigots but folks with a genuine concern about the themes she highlighted.  LePen received twice the votes her father who was in fact a  racists who enflamed racist rhetoric.  If all things are equal we would have to say 1/6 of of the French population is sympathetic to the vision of her father, I doubt that figure has doubled. 

 

What is interesting is LePen herself already had plans to reform or dissociate from National Front ( sounds like the wheels are coming off this morning).  Until the last few debates with Macron LePen was sounding downright centrist...for some reason she went back to the more strident rhetoric. LePen is a gifted politician with great capacity to inspire folks.  I doubt we have seen the last of  her.

Daddy LePen believes his granddaughter is the future of the party and would have been a better option than his daughter. Marine only dropped her connection to the party because it would look better on the ballot if she wasn't directly connected to them. Luckily not enough people fell for it, as it stands at the moment i wouldnt want any member of her family in a position of power.

 

I am also not too sure how effective Macron will be, his hands are tied in that he will need go through the older elected parties if he wants to get anything passed. Also will his own party do as well in future elections as he did with the presidency?
