With your personal check does it also show your address? I think USCIS suggests that you if you use personal check your name and address should be on the check(if Im not mistaken.) The check that we have only has a name on it without our address that's why Im thinking to just use Money Order instead.

I am referring to creating an account online with USCIS. What form did you use when you created an account in USCIS?

Yes our checks have both of our names and our address on them.  Are your checks for a new account?  That's the only time I think I've seen checks that don't include an address on them.

Sorry about that, I thought you meant a USPS account to track the package.  I had an account from the original green card process for my husband.  I just had to reset the password since it had locked my account due to inactivity.  As soon as we get the NOA1, it has a place for me to enter it to check the status.

Did you sign up for myUSCIS Account? I do remember that we had filled up form G-1145 when I applied for the two years temporary green card. And we attached this form when we submitted our application before for them to know that we would also like to be notified through email. But this has already expired last 2015. This is not the one you are referring to that you already had, right?

The checks that we have is from our old account. This is the one thats given for free by our bank. There's a fee is there an address added so I didn't bother requesting it. Didn't know that I will need until now 🙁

Wow, I didn't know that banks charged for putting addresses on checks.  Learn something new every day. :)

Yes I have a myUSCIS account.  It is not the same as the G-1145 form.  You can sign in and once you have the NOA1, you can enter it and it will give you the option to add email and text alerts.

Should I create an account before I send my application or I can do that too after sending it? I don't know how this online account thing work.

What I understand this is also optional (creating USCIS account online), right?

You have to wait for the biometrics letter, that letter will have two numbers and the second number is the one you use to enter into the USCIS account to track your status.

@mlh... Life saver you are. I had no clue FEDEX does not ship to P. O. Box, and the lady who attended to me did not say so as well. How ridiculous! Hi! Im also a May 2017 filer and about to send my application too. I have some questions before I finally submit my I-751.

1. What's  the method of shipping I should use? Others used FedEx but others were saying that you can't send FedEx using P.O. Box. And while others use USPS Priority Mail, should I require a signature for this? I believe using USPS Priority Mail will give us tracking number where we can keep track too on our Mail/package.

2. For the payment, what's the best form of payment? I am thinking to use a Money Order. Will this be fine? What name did you put in your money order.  I should put the correct name since they are strict with this.

3. Is it better to create an account online for my application? If i do create an account will I still receive a notice from our mail and at the same time to my email?

Hope someone answers me this. Thanks!

1. I used USPS Priority Mail with Signature Confirmation. It cost an extra $2.45 for signature option, so why not? :)

2. I wrote a personal check and made it payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security (not USDHS, not DHS, etc.) Spell it out like they instructed us in the instructions sheet

3. Not sure if you meant to say a USPS Online Account or a USCIS Online Account, but I assume you meant the USCIS one. I did create an USCIS account so hopefully once I get the NOA, I can start tracking my petition.

It doesn't really matter.  You can't do anything with the account until you have the NOA1 back with the receipt number.  Don't delay sending the packet just to create the account.
