N-400 photos required?

Hi, do we really need to include color photographs?  In the document checklist it says:  IF YOU RESIDE OUTSIDE THE US, enclose two identical photos ...????

So I'm living in the US, does that mean that I do not need to send those pictures?

Agree - since you're within the US don't include any photos.

I just submitted mine late March. No need of pictures if you are living in the US. They will take a picture at the time of your biometrics/fingerprinting appointment.

I am SO glad someone asked this because I was wondering this. And friends that have gone through this process all give me different answers based on their own level of comfort with their document/record keeping.

Yes you need 2 color photos, After your interview officer will ask to sign and that same photo will be in your certificate.

As noted above, USCIS is now taking the photo for your certificate at the biometrics appointments! But think of it this way...if you get the temporarily useless 2 photos, then they can be use when you get your passport!

Well, cant you just take the photos to the interview, and not send it with the application?

Emphasis on ALL and 3 - that tells me we ALL need to send photos with the  N-400 form

I think it wont hurt to do it, so I would include or bring the photo at the interview just in case 😊

My packet was accepted fine without pictures this week! But I reside in the US.  I did get some from CVS but they were so awful I didn't bother.
