Hi May filer. Is it possible to get the NOA without the checks getting cashed. My papers went out on May 1st. Still checks not cashed. Just upset. 4 weeks gone and still no news.

So i didn't send in an I-130A with my application (I guess I was still operating on the old instructions). Should I wait for an RFE or should I send in an I-130A today with a cover letter explaining my understanding? Any suggestions?

I think its best to wait it out, and let them send it, just incase you get lucky and they didn't notice lol, so don't remind them.

I have heard some people get lucky by missing out some documents and they never got RFE for it, so just pray your own luck shines and they don't notice, it doesn't cost a dime to wish....LOL

The problem is my attorney.  They are handling my papers from day 1 and know all the loops. I cannot do anything or call Uscis without their knowledge. I know that I have to wait as my papers are filed in Texas. It has a longer waiting period.  Will want everyones prayers at this time. Thanks

Do you have a job offer as well, or just sending out bills due by your household? Hoping to expedite as well but would they let you expedite if you only have 1 sponsor for your affidavit of support and your saying financial hardship?

I am currently employed so risk being terminated from employment without immediate renewal. I use myself and my husband for the affidavit of support but I am the primary breadwinner and without my salary, things would be a lot more difficult. I don't think it should be a problem because my husband's salary alone is above the poverty line. But beyond actually living (and as I explained in my request to expedite) I also have student loan payments from law school, and my health insurance is tied to my job for which I've already met the annual deductible (and will have to start all over again when I am re-employed). We'll see what happens. If they reject my affidavit of support on this ground, then we will use my mother-in-law as joint sponsor. I'll keep you updated. I hope to get a response soon.
