Hello all,

I compiled a nice and neat page of facebook post's; one is a picture of us celebrating and showing off her engagement ring, the other is a life event, "engaged", including all the comments an likes from friends/family.  In my head, I can't make it much easier for the USICIS handler to do their job. They see it is something that is publicly known on social media, the dates an comments are there from friends and family, and it brings tangibility to, "intent to marry".

Any objections or oppositions for including facebook post's an pictures? Furthermore, I don't know if I should include it in the, "statement of intent to marry"  or the, "proof of having met",section?

Thank's ole wise ones.

No, you need to prove you will marry within 90 days of your fiancé's arrival. A Facebook update can't prove that.

Second I do hope you prove more than that for having met in person :-)

And I never submitted that during my process but it is there for my AOS/ROC

Not sure if you're literally trying to use FB posts as evidence instead of supplying the required documents or not....

You need to supply, one from the petitioner and one from the beneficiary, a letter of intent to marry.

Also need to fill out, even briefly, the "where you met" section on the forms.

Also as for proof of having met, photos are secondary... they want to see passport stamps, ticket stubs from the flight(s), any credit card billing statements or receipts from there... ect..

What country does your fiancé live in?

Pictures from Facebook aren't enough. You and your fiancé need to both write a brief letter of intent to get married. It doesn't have to be much, just that you both are free to marry and understand you must do so in 90 days. You'll get an RFE which will delay your case if you don't include this.

As for meeting in person, you should include airline tickets, visa stamps and receipts in addition to the photos.

To me it is more convincing than a letter of intent. And I will have my letter of intent. But anyone can write up a letter of intent, fb post's add a little more substance imo. Anyways, I would like to include it, unless someone can give me a good reason why it may be bad idea.

I don't see any issue in including it as long as you have the other stuff as well. Which is sounds like you do. Best of luck!

It likely does not mean much to an adjudicating officer, though. But it won't hurt to include it either. People have setup fake fb accounts to try to fool immigration before. The letter is sufficient by itself for the I-129F.

As for proof of having met at least once, the other evidence noted above is primary. The fb posts won't have much bearing on it.

Yeah, I can understand how fb can be manipulated for illegitimate cases. But, as I mentioned I will have all the required info. This is just a supplement, an it would be very contradicting for me to fake a fb post on top of legitimate proof.

Not needed at all for USCIS with filing the I-129F petition... over-kill for sure.  Waste of paper to send it with the-I-129F.  Might be nice for the actual visa application at the embassy to show a genuine relationship.. might.

USCIS requires PROOF of having met in person within the past 2 years; that is copies of boarding passes, passport stamps, pictures together (not too many), receipts that are time/dated with names on them (hotel and such).

Intent to marry is a simply letter from each of you with original signature, stating that you are free to marry and intent to marry within 90 days of arriving in the USA...

Visa chase and citizenship.. DONE!
