Hi Everyone,

So our family members are pressuring us, saying that it's taking too long for the I-751 to be processed. One of my hubby's family members got approved in 8 months. Weird.

I guess some people are just lucky and get approved faster than others, like that story above.

We're just like the majority and still waiting in line. God willing the wait will be over soon.

CSC April 2017 filer here.

Okay, we finally got some movement on our cases, 14.5 months after filing our i-751.

First, my wife is a combo i-1751/n-400 filer. If you're not a combo filer this might not apply to you.

i-751 filing date: 4/13/2017 at CSC

n-400 filing date: 4/24/2018

notification that n400 interview has been scheduled: 6/28/2018

interview: ????? (our local office is Albuquerque)

We have to wait until the letter notifying us when the interview is, arrives by mail or online. The way these things go, that might take a week.

Generally, from what I've seen, they usually schedule the interview about a month after they notify you.

The n-400 interview is a combo i-751/n-400 interview. Presumably they have the i-751 application in hand and complete the processing for the green card after the interview.

Now the juicy part which might help others....

After waiting patiently for 2 months from filing the n-400 and 14.5 months from filing i-751, doing biometrics twice during the interim, we finally got tired of waiting and called USCIS yesterday! I told the agent of our general exasperation but of course, she could not tell me anything I didn't already know from checking my status. She told us to file a formal request for status after 20 months. Okay, whatever, we're resigned to waiting for however long it takes. Click. However...

24 hours later, we received notification of an interview. That seems weirdly coincidental. If you've been waiting since April 2017, you might want to tickle USCIS at this point and see if you don't magically get notified of a forthcoming interview the next day.

Hoping for the best for everyone.

Nope, no alert. The last notice on my ROC was March 5 around the time that they claimed to have transferred many cases to local offices.

Yeah, I think there's been some misinformation in this thread in the past. Some were claiming that filing for your n400 would actually delay processing on your ROC. I could never see any evidence of that, and considering the timelines on CSC ROC applications lengthening, I didn't see anything to lose to file n400 in April of this year.

That's one perk of the combo filers, assuming your local office processing times for N-400 applications is resealable...Albuquerque is about 6 months.

I filed the i751 in April 2017 (NOA1 date 4/20/17) and after the biometrics for it, it seemed to sit at CSC until I filed my n400 on 4/1 this year. Then a few days later, I received a Notice of Transfer (online update and paper in the mail) to NBC (National Benefits Center in Lee's Summit, MO.)

From what I gather from other posters across different threads here, it seems to be a pretty common occurrence now to get the i751 transferred to NBC after filing the n400. The consensus seems to be that the n400 triggers this so NBC can combine the two and arrange interviews. (But then I've also seen at least one poster who never filed an n400 at all and still got this transfer, and actually received an i751 approval within a few weeks - that probably isn't the norm though.)

Anyway, I'm just curious if anyone knows:

My status now shows my n400 as "wait time: 11 months" (with est. completion time saying 12 months) probably because I'm in Southern California. But if they really combined the i751 case with the n400 (and my extension letter expires in less than 2 months), is it really still likely that they'll hold the i751 for a combined interview more than a year from now?

Did you file your N400 online? I just filed mine online 2 weeks ago with I751 pending at CSC. I haven't received any notice of transfer yet. My filed office is not that backed up.

i got the same message this morning too....EXACTLY SAME! i heard that you have to wait for a few days, there will be a letter coming from USCIS to inform you what is next. There are different responses depend on your case, so there is no one answer...some said move to another office along with N-400, some said move to another office and it has the jurisdiction on the case, please wait for their respond or something like that.

Anyone know if this is a positive thing in the past?
