Hello, fellow April fillers.

So the big day was yesterday, I got my GC interview.  in the morning was nervous as hell, but... My interview went great, our immigration officer was more interested in how to pronounce my and my family names than anything else. It was more like a conversation than an interview and me and my hubby were so relieved. It lasted about 10 minutes and then officer asked us to wait in the waiting room. he came back 10 minutes later with a letter saying CONGRATULATIONS! your application has been approved. :jest::jest::jest:

What he asked us, besides the questions from the application was:

1. How many people attended our wedding?

2.Have my husband met my parents?

3. Do we have any pictures? I handed him about 20 of those and he went through them asking where it was taken. He asked to pick 5, so he could keep them.

4. Our joint assets?

5. He asked my husband if I ever tried to hit him with a pan after he asked me those questions from application about the guns. :D

That's it. Very easy and very simple. Now just anxiously waiting for my GC. And will be done with USCIS....for 1,5 years :D

P.S. our interview was observed by 2 interns with our permission.

Nice :D

But you're wrong about being done with them after 1.5 years, since you'll have to file the N-400 for citizenship 3 years after that ;)

Well, after 1.5 years I will have to apply to lift the conditions for my GC. But I think I will keep my current citizenship:D

Gotcha. I'm going to go for it. Who knows, I might finally be able to use that Physics degree, and work with NASA. #dreams

I bet you hear something (or even just get it) on Monday or Tuesday. Your card got approved on a Friday, which may have pushed the request to the next business day?

ExieLeen, congratulations on your Green Card!

I just sent our AOS packet yesterday and it got to Chicago today. I saw that you are from Escondido, CA. My husband and I live in Carlsbad, CA so maybe the timeline will be similar. What day in April/2017 did you guys send your AOS packet?

Thank you so much 👍🏻😃

Hello JTTE, glad to see another couple from San Diego North County area on this forum! Thanks for the congrats but she only got her EAD/AP combo card not her GC! I wish! 😁 Anyway, we sent out packet through the USPS Express mail on April 6 and of course they received it the next day according to tracking but we didn't get NOA until April 17. You can check our timeline for our details. You should set up your timeline so you can track your progress along with everyone else to help cheer you on! Thanks Again!

I had my infopass appointment earlier this morning at the Providence office. I was there to talk about my pending EAD/AP. It was not particularly helpful.

The officer was very pleasant and made some small talk. He said that it doesn't look like they require any additional documents and that they have the biometrics and address change (I moved in June) recorded in their system. He couldn't tell me what the outcome of my recent service request was and told me to call the customer service line to tell them that it has been over 120 days (!!!!!). He did mention that if it is still pending by September 13 (my GC interview date), I can get an endorsement on the passport that would enable to me to start working right away as opposed to waiting for the card to come through.

Hi my fellow april filers! hope everyone is good...so a little update on my status..remember that long wait on the bio apt which took almost 2 months wait after 2 service request and an infopass...well guess what im scheduled for interview next month! yay!:D received the letter yesterday. no updates thru email/texts, the app nor the from uscis account...so thats it...

my question now is that my ead/ap hasnt moved at all...and im on the 106th day. should i ask for service request by this time? or am i still within time frame?

another one, i didnt include the i693 form in my application since my medical is within the year time frame so its not yet expired. i did attach the vaccination record. should i be worried? should i go get a civil surgeon to update? or wait it out til interview. cause from what ive read, one dont need the i693 as long as the medical is within timeframe. but then again its case to case basis...so a little confused here...and i also didnt receive any rfe regarding it  so right now im thinking im in the safe zone?:D id really love to have inputs from you guys. thanks! you all have a great week!

Congrats on the scheduled interview!

I would bring a photocopy and the original I-693 to the interview and that is it. There is no need to consult with a civil surgeon at this point, and I heard they can be quite expensive. If they ask for the medical info, you can hand them the I-693 or if they want you to do another medical, they will let you know.

It has been 112 days since my case was received for EAD/AP and I filed a service request online just now to see what happens.

I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait as long as I can, but then the online request form was easy to fill out. Maybe it will give them a little push. The confirmation email says to expect a reply by August 26th.

@OBGYNKENOBI Congratulations on your case's progress! I am somewhat bothered by the fact that your online status did not change to "Interview is Scheduled." It is scary that aside from the physical letter, there's no other indication that your case is already scheduled for an interview. 😖 What if the letter did not arrive and the online status did not change at all? 😖 But anyways, good thing you got yours. 👍🏼

As for the I-693, if your K-1 medical and DS-3025 (vaccination worksheet) are still within 1 year at the time of your interview, then I think you should be fine. A word of caution though: there are posts claiming that not all IOs are aware of this. 😔

@MAYNYCFiler2017 That's good! I am hoping that you receive your card any day this week.

Thank u
