Is there a time limit to gather papers after receiving NOA2?

How long do you have to compile the NOA2 paperwork to send to the foreign fiancee? When I receive the NOA2, will there already be an appointment scheduled for my foreign  fiancee, or do I gather everything and send it to him, and then HE goes to the consulate to schedule the appointment? Does anyone know how this works? I'm looking ahead and I'm trying to understand. Thanks!

Every country works differently from whether the beneficiary schedules the interview or the embassy does that for them so can't help a lot on that bit; but hopefully some other Australian members can.

 

As to once you get the NOA2, then it will go to NVC and receive a case number, then the packet will be forwarded onto the embassy in Australia. The petitioner will then also receive a hard copy of the NVC case number letter in the mail. This generally can take 2-4 weeks.

 

So pretty much within reason from NOA2, to NVC, to time of medical/interview you would have a few weeks to gather up everything to mail to the beneficiary. Sometimes maybe more depending on availability for medical and interview dates, also depending how long it takes the beneficiary to gather their documents as needed (police reports(s), divorce decrees(if applicable), ect..)

 

As to a "time limit", there will be an expiration on the NOA2, think it is like 4-5 months from the date of the NOA2. This is tentative and will be auto-renewed if there is further action on the case, such as scheduling of an appointment for the interview. The embassy knows that sometimes stuff happens or they are booked way in advance, but you could probably complete everything long before the expiration to worry about it.
