K1 AOS Biometrics

Good Afternoon fellow VJ members,

 We have a question in regards to the Biometrics. When applying for adjustment of status I have read if the overseas medical is within a year of applying for the AOS another Biometrics exam is not needed. No for the tricky part many blogs say to only fill out Part 1 of that for (325) I believe. But someone also stated to have a Surgeon? fill out a part on that form? I'm confused. Thanks in advance ?

Biometrics and medical are two different things.

 

Send a copy of your DS-3025 vaccination sheet from your overseas medical when you file for AOS.

 

Biometrics is when they take your finger prints and photo, this you will have to do for your AOS, your ROC and if you file for citizenship.

Please double check because I did my medical in Germany and I definitely got a paper from the doctor, it is called DS-3025 Vaccination Documentation Worksheet.

It was given to me in an envelope at the medical center and it also contains a CD with a copy of my chest x-ray.

Without this paper you can not prove that you had a medical already and you will have to do it again in the US, it is not in the package that you have to show at the border.

The original DS3025 was in the sealed medical for the embassy.
The beneficiary usually gets a copy. The original will then be in the package that gets handed over at POE and then goes to
USCIS where it meets up with the AOS file. If the DS3025 is marked "complete" then there is nothing to do.

If not marked complete then a RFE will be issued and a visit to the civil surgeon is needed for the I-693.

Didn't get any "sealed medical for the embassy" I got an envelope at the medical center with the x-ray and the DS3025. they told me there to keep it with me at all times, that is what I did. I guess that what you say is what the medical center sends directly to the US Consulate in charge of your case.

I don't know about that because I never saw the content of that package as you are not supposed to open it and the border officer takes it and you don't see it again after crossing to the US. What I know is that he definitely should have a copy of it, at least I hope so!

The whole medical exam documentation is in the sealed envelope that you hand over to the CBP when you enter the US. However, you should als8 have your own copy of the DS-3025 that you get from your doctor at the medical, doctors generally don't care if you need it or not, so you need to be pro-active and ask for it yourself.

 

The DS-3025 is to be sent in with the AOS package, that's why you need it. And it should be marked 'complete'. USCIS should also match your AOS application with the sealed envelope you hand over to the CBP but often they fail to do so.

Yes, you include it with your AOS package but if he was not given a copy (happens a lot or people don't ask for it)
then USCIS will have the original from the package handed over at POE.

Let me disagree here a bit, If I may... If they were not given the document by the doctor I think that it is a clear fault by the physician's side. They have definitely done that before so they know that it is a very important paper for the petitioners. I can't believe that they don't know what they are doing, that is negligence to me.

There's nothing to disagree with, the fact is that some doctors don't care and won't go out of their way to give you a paper you might need in the future. You need to specifically ask for it if they don't hand it to you on their own accord, simple as that. It's your future, not the doctor's, so even if the doctor SHOULD hand you a copy, they sometimes don't because they don't care.

I would agree with you if they would do this without getting paid, but it is their job and you are giving them a good amount of money (much more that what they deserve for what they actually do to be honest) to do things properly and not just "don't care". Simple as that.

But I guess that this is how the world works, take the money and run baby...

Thanks everyone, well I'm glad he is still in Germany and can easily go to dr. and request that. All he was given was his cd and a receipt for payment. It's a learning process and we have been taking things a step at a time so if I would have know he needed that from dr. when he 1st went I would have obviously had him not leave the office until he got it ?
