This usually used to happen, everytime they didnt update their systems. Last time, a few weeks back when this happened - it was the first time USCIS did 200+ cases!! This was smtime in early feb/late jan i guess.. :) right @geowrian ? :)

it is the same in the UK - they request a letter with the case number for the medical and the interview - so we have to take the letter from the embassy (packet 3)

Exactly. The amount of work was normal (actually above normal), but the system just didn't update.

 

That said, I just found out that I probably won't be able to do the scan until the evening as I'm on site for work today.

At 7 PM IST...on 21st March today :) uscis tracker sent an update and I checked the uscis site. No sms and email yet though. 

This proves USCIS was working yesterday!!

Me too :) this was approved yest infact so this proves that even when they dnt update system, they might still be working :)

How long does it take to be sent out? 

It could be for anything - a box that wasn't checked / a missing signature / not enough evidence of having met in person / a missing copy of a document / a document that wasn't copied clearly / a box that wasn't filled in / request for evidence that an online dating site isn't a marriage broker

 

for RFE times - @geowrian had an RFE recently he might be able to tell you how long it takes to receive the letter
