Shall everyone call the NVC, I mean after you got your NOA2 or it is okay if you just do nothing and see when they send papers to the Embassy ?

Since I don't get hard copies (Mexican mail is the worlds worst), I want the number from NVC so I can track the package and do things as needed.

Hello all !

I have a question ,

my approval date is June 7th, and so i called the nvc today and they told me they recieved my packet yesterday, they didnt provide me with a case number yet but my question is once i recieve the case number what happens next ?

I am a bit confused as to what comes next after recieving the case number ,

any input would greatly be appreciated 😊

once you receive your case # you got this webiste: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx and track your case until it says ready

in the interim you should start your ds-160 form: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/ <<< its pretty lengthy so do while you have time and all your documents at hand. this is for the beneficiary to complete- you can save the application until your case status on the CEAC website says ready. THEN AND ONLY THEN WILL YOU SUBMIT.

once ds160 is submitted you pay the visa fee and schedule your interview

start gathering all the documents needed from the petitioner now- w2's , letter from the bank, letter from employer, proof of relationship, 2nd letter of continued intent to marry(to be signed by the petitioner), i134 form(to be signed by the petitioner), original birth certificate and a copy (beneficiary), police certificate (beneficiary), immunization/ vaccine card..... etc... its wise to start gathering as early as possible to avoid delays when interview scheduling time comes around.

NOTE: the documents required and the process differs from embassy to embassy but is fairly similar.

HOPE THIS HELPS!!

Haha hopefully when i go on Friday it's straight forward but then again were talking about the NHS! Are you from the UK or is it your fiance, just curious if it was you how long did it take to get booked in and get your vaccinations, i have a horrible feeling there will be a long wait.

I'm from the UK.

It was a little bit of a process actually- it'll probably be easier for you!

I moved a few years ago and haven't had to visit the GP in a while so I made the mistake of not registering until September last year!

My gp records took about 4 months to transfer!! (Stupid NHS central system) but luckily the receptionists at the new surgery typed up my vaccination notes!

the practice nurse was really awkward about giving me vaccinations as the surgery make you fill in a form  - I hung up on her over the phone (I even offered to pay for them but she was being really weird!).

i made an appointment in the end and my gp didn't think anything of it and just gave me injections!

I did ask the practice manager (they know me so well now!) to write the letter about 9 weeks ago and I called her to ask for it and she basically said she couldn't do this as the embassy needed info about my medical history (I have a clean bill of health so I don't know why it's such a big issue!) and had made me make an appointment on Monday evening for this! (Even though they are charging me £25 for it!)

my gp is anti bs so will probably just write it there and then!

i think it's not knowing what to do and getting stuff wrong that freaks them out!

Hopefullg itll be easier for you! Sorry about the essay but it's been a longgggg process for me 😂😂

thats correct... that's what i was trying to say in my note above, apologies if it didnt come across that way. ---you can answer all the questions but you cannot submit it until your case has reached your embassy which is known when your case says ready on the CEAC website.

Q. The Applicant filled out the DS 160 and submitted it. Two days later and several days before the interview, the Applicant realized that a mistake had been made. Now the Applicant wants to correct the information on the DS 160 before the interview. What should the Applicant do?
A. Once the Applicant has submitted the DS 160 online application, the application cannot be accessed to make changes. In order to make changes, a new DS 160 must be filled out and submitted so that a new bar code will be generated, which must be taken to the interview at the U.S. Consulate/Kyiv.
If the Applicant realizes that there are errors in the submitted information after being scheduled for an interview appointment, the Applicant should cancel the interview, fill out a new DS 160 and schedule a new interview appointment with a new confirmation sheet and barcode.
However, in case of a minor spelling error, the Applicant may attend the scheduled interview and inform the Consular Officer of the error without completing a new form.
Applicants should know that incorrect information on the DS 160 will impact the information printed on the visa and may result in the U.S. Consulate/Kyiv requesting a new DS 160 before completing the visa interview.

That's good news!! At least we can change it :) especially since I think I've submitted mine too early!!

I have another trip to the us before my interview that I have yet to enter

Has anyone having NOA2 around June 9 called NVC for a case number yet?

Mine is June 8 and NVC received it on Monday. Case number not assigned yet. Does anyone know how long it might take for NVC to assign a case number and mail the file to Embassy? And how long the mail might to take to reach Embassy. My Embassy will be Johannesburg

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking here for awhile.  I just got my NOA2 hard copy in the mail a few days ago and am now waiting on our case number.  My question is, my fiancé, who is living in France, is just now in the process of moving to another city with family where he will stay until he moves to America.  Of course our petition has his old address on it.  Should I contact the NVC  to inform them of the fact he is moving or is this information he would just need to bring to the interview?

I am sorry if this is a very obvious question but I was a bit confused when trying to research the answer.

Thank you in advance!

this is a good question, i would reach out to the uscis, nvc and the france us embassy for an answer on this. i know normally a change of address for the petitioner needs to be reported. but if packet 3 and 4 are mailed via snail mail i guess it will need to be updated as well.

If you look back in the january thread I believe, there were some girls from canada with the same issue.  I think they ended up being able to book the next day (from getting packet 4).

Yes so my issue is resolved, and I've set up an interview for July 19th! :))
