I may have posted something regarding this several days ago.  But saw this article tonight that was written on 5/9/17.  The timing is interesting in relation to the apparent slowdown in k1 processing.

USCIS Completes Data Entry for Petitions Selected in H-1B Lottery; Will Start Returning Unselected Petitions

Tuesday, May 9, 2017

On May 3, 2017, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that the data entry process for all H-1B cap petitions selected in the FY 2018 H-1B cap lottery had been completed. USCIS will begin returning petitions that were not selected in the lottery; however, a specific timeframe for the return of unselected petitions has not been identified. USCIS is requesting that petitioning employers refrain from inquiring into the status of cap-subject petitions until employers have received a receipt notice or the returned cap-subject petition.

In an effort to balance its workload, USCIS will transfer some H-1B cap petitions from its Vermont Service Center to its California Service Center for processing. USCIS will issue notifications via mail on cases that are being transferred.

That's ridiculous 😡 😡 as if uscis california hasn't enough work load they add more cases onto the pile, seriously getting annoyed....

All cases around mine got RFE and just me and one more number are right in the middle of around 30 RFE :P Thats funny :D

im sure that they worked on more cases but maybe they are trying to keep in until NVC will process some cases because right now maybe they have busy time there so they are focusing on RFEs? Because it will take some time to get responses on them? Hmm maybe that is the case. Im glad that they are working on my received day and other february cases ;)

My time is around yours too! my case was received on 8 Feb and we received the NOA1 letter on 10 Feb. But we still receive nth at this stage. Hopefully we will hear from them in next week.lol

This is the saddest news :(.

Ideally... you'd expect them to process K1s filed before this happened first, and then move on to H-1Bs. But they never seem to do anything in a sensible order

so I suspect this means everyone that's filed between December and now will see an increase in their wait time.... Bah!

Their online system is shot. People are getting approvals in the mail and no update on the system. I hope they are on track. Just keep checking the mailbox.
