Did you try calling? I dont think its going to add any favors as USCIS are still working on cases since Nov, 2016.

I didn't think it would help my case, so I haven't. I tried to put in an SR online, but the system told me that it's too early to file one..

I have my EAD already, so I'm not too concerned about the Green Card itself... yet.

Timeline:

  • AOS application submitted: 1/28/17
  • NOA1 for 130/765: 2/24/17
  • NOA1 for 485: 3/2/17
  • Biometrics letter: 3/11/17
  • Biometrics appointment: 3/30/17
  • EAD in production: 5/23/17
  • EAD received: 5/26/17
  • AP application received: 9/15/17
  • AP application approved: 12/2/17
  • Interview Notice received: 12/23/17
  • AOS Interview: 1/23/18
  • Approval email/texts: 2/8/18
  • Green Card mailed (hopefully): 2/14/18

According to many other posts and sources, a very long time. I'd expect a waiting time of anywhere between 6 and 12 months. If it doesn't take as long, that'll be great. If it takes longer, that's just how it is... Best of luck.

Ok thank you, do you know what he will have to do in the mean time? Like what should he carry with him to show his residency.

He is not a Permanent Resident yet. All he has is an Authorized Status which means that he cannot be deported.

I always carry my NOA1 from the I-485 and my driver's license with me.

All we can do is wait until USCIS update our status...

She's asking for those who are likely to get an interview waiver. Those cases don't leave the NBC with some exceptions that get transferred to a non-local service center.

Funny how I've been checking my USCIS app on a daily basis for an update on our case only to be surprised by a mail coming from them saying our interview schedule is on September 12! This is it! 😄

Yeah, the app is not that dependable.

Current timeline:

July 2019 - filed I-751

August 2020 - filed N400

Sept. 2020 - i-751 status "Case Was Transferred to a New Office". Transferred to NBC.

April 12, 2021 - N400 interview in LA passed (with a pending i-751)

May 20, 2021 - I-751 status changed to Approved and N400 status changed to Oath Will Be Scheduled. 🤩

May 21, 2021 - received a call and email from USCIS Los Angeles with my NOA with my oath schedule.

May 28, 2021 - oath taking schedule in USCIS DTLA office. 😍

this is random, but in the past, whenever I renewed my DL, it was only valid for however long my legal presence document said i'm legally in the states for.

i assumed my DL would be valid for exactly as long as my EAD, which is less than a year. however, when i got my license in the mail, it's valid through my birthday in 2020. it's like i already have a (conditional) green card or something...

how long are y'alls DLs valid for, if you already got them in connection with your AOS?

This depends on which state you are in - states that have implemented the Real ID Act seem to check your immigration status before issuing a driver's license and in those cases might be linked to your period of stay. Several states have not yet implemented this.

It has been 6 months +1 day since I submitted my AOS paperwork. I was able to submit a service request online based on my case being outside normal processing times. They said to expect a reply within 3 weeks.

Last time I spoke to them (about three weeks ago) my case was still at the NBC. I have my EAD/AP. The only reason I want updates is because my local field office is Dover, DE and they don't provide any estimated processing times for AOS

I am also worried that some people have received their GC in the mail without any updates or notifications online, I moved last weekend and while I did update my address with USCIS it takes a couple days for them to complete!

Hope everyone starts to get good news soon!

I am a March filer in Tampa with my wife... that's good to hear and good luck.

Curious if you ever got a notice that your case was ready to be scheduled or did you just get an interview notice in the mail?

I just got notice that my husband's AOS was approved yesterday after 179 days! He did not have an interview! I am so excited and thankful it got approved now as we are going on our honeymoon in Sept and I was worried our interview would get scheduled then. Now he won't even need his AP if he gets his green card in the mail by Aug 30!

I hope more of you get approved soon!
