Here are the documents I am taking with me for the interview as support of bonafide marriage:

• 3 years of joint bank statements

• Joint health insurance (and life insurance) - and a copy of our insurance card with our names on it

• 3 years of tax returns (married filling jointly) - I also have tax transcripts

• Screenshot of joint credit cards

• Screenshot of mobile phones family plan

• 3 years of apartment leases

• A few plane trips we took together (unfortunately I can't find all of them)

• Copy of our State ID with our apartment address on it

• Marriage Certificate

• I don't know if I should print photos (what do you think?)

Let me know if you guys think about anything else (we don't have cars, we are living in NYC)

Hi Jon, the naturalization interview is a lot different to the green card interview, so you can leave a lot of that stuff at home (credit cards, mobile plans, photos). Focus on what they ask you to bring in your interview invitation letter as well as the original versions of the supporting evidence you sent with your application. I took bank statements from our joint account for the most recent month and December 31st for the previous 3 years, the tax transcript printouts, a copy of our recent mortgage statement, the marriage certificate and my wife's birth certificate (this was asked for in the interview letter). In the end the officer asked me for none of this and I had to remind him they had asked for her birth certificate which he then scanned.

Thank you for your advices!

I was thinking it's better to be over prepared just in case... I was surprised they don't really asked for anything else than my husband's birth certificate.

Passport, green card and marriage certificate are the only things I can think of for the original document I can take with me that I already sent.

It's just surprising that they seem to ask less evidence than ROC but thats fine :)

My interview is Tuesday, it makes me nervous but I can't wait at the same time

I'm so relieved and happy i passed the interview process. We thought we were going to be super late (appt was at 8:45 am) because there were so many accidents and part of the freeway was shutdown... it was so stressful watching the 30+ minutes add onto on the GPS time of arrival, but luckily we left early enough in case something went wrong with the traffic i found out that public parking was available in the same building as the USCIS San Diego offices so that saved so much time.

We (hubby, kiddos & I) got there about 10 min early.

We went through securityshowed interview letter and ID (really professional, courteous and friendly with my kids) and then checked in with my N400 interview notification letter. They gave me a form to fill in with my name etc. For to prepare the naturalization certificate.

I was called in 5 minutes later and my husband and kids waited in the waiting area. The Officer Interviewing me was really friendly,  said hi,  how are you.. followed by "what is all that? " referring to the notebooks of evidence. He seemed a little surprised and I answered him with the letter said to bring evidence and original documents.  He smiled and said ok and asked if i was ready for the interview.

I was sworn in and he started the interview by verifying my name,  Date of birth etc with my drivers license, green card and latest passport.

He wanted to know:

how i entered the USA (k1 fiance visa), how long have i been in the US,

how long i lived at each address,

Who lives at our present address (Hubby, kids, dog and I)

How long we were married (asked for certificate)

Is my hubby a citizen (asked for certificate)

Any kids (asked for certificates)

How many times each of us were married.

Confirmed if i had travelled out of the country since submitting the application And wanted to know the reason for my trips out of the US.

He asked What I do for a living/how i support myself financially.

What is my hubby 's occupation, how long he'd been in that profession and at his current job, who was his employer.

Then we did the testing section, i had to read a sentence

"Canada is north of the U.S."

Then he dictated a sentence for me to write "The U.S. is South of Canada"

The civics part luckily i got the first 6 questions correct and he stopped that part.

Then continued to go through the application - a series of yes/ no questions. And had to sign some forms.

Then i got a paper stating that the interview process being recommended for approval.

He made a copy of my drivers license and walked me out.

It was a great experience and I was totally over prepared with all the evidence.

Hopefully the wait for the letter for the oath ceremony wont be too long.

Thanks for all your posts and updates it really helped me prepare and calm my nerves!!!

Good luck I hope things speed up & everyone gets their interviews soon!

Congrats on your interview. I'm so nervous. I'm planning to be as prepared as possible, but this last stretch is giving me anxiety.

I wanted to ask a couple of questions.

How much was parking at the uscis building?

Did he ask about same day ceremonies or date request? I know they do a couple naturalization ceremonies a year aboard the Midway Museum and I would love to be able to request if I could have mine there (considering that I pass my interview)

Thank you. This whole process is really stressful.  I am sure that you will do well and when you're prepared it will help calm your nerves. I hope  that your interview goes well.

Parking at 110 Plaza was $2 every 20 min, with a max of $24/day. We paid $10.

I wad so stressed i couldn't think of the questions i wanted to ask.  I checked their website and they don't do same day oath ceremonies.

Yes they did the oath ceremony  for the 4th of July on the Midway Museum, it was a really special ceremony when i saw it on the news.

If you do ask your IO any if these questions, pls share your info with us.

Good luck with your preparations!!

Parking at 110 Plaza was $2 every 20 min, with a max of $24/day. We paid $10.

That's not too bad. Beats looking for street parking.

He didn't ask for photos.

I took the pictures with because i read that some ppl were asked for photos.

The only docs he wanted to see were marriage/birth certificates and my identification docs.

But if they needed a document or it was missing, i wanted to be able to settle it in the interview and not have to deal with a RFE.
