I-130 January 2017 Filers

Hi everyone,

I noticed that most of you already got your I-130 approved months ago. Is there anyone in this forum whose I-130 is still in limbo?

This is the latest status on my case:

Case Was Received
On January 24, 2017, we received your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, Receipt Number MSC1790666***, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case.

I know it's months behind processing time. I raised a service request on January 12, 2018, and no answer. I called again on February 12, 2018, and a Tier 2 Representative told me it's been 30 days but to wait another 30 days. I have an info pass appointment on March 16, 2018, but I'm afraid it's not going to go any better than what the Tier 2 Rep said. It's a five-hour drive to the nearest service center... I don't want to miss asking the right questions.

Any suggestions?

Yes!! Did you get an RFE? We did back in July 2017. Sent in what was needed in August. Case was received Sept 15 2017 at the local service center. I inquired online on Jan 2 2018 and finally got a response last week that we would be getting an "appointment " scheduled in the next 60 days.  I'm assuming that's the biometrics appointment? They didn't specify.  but you are saying that you didn't hear anything from Jan 2017 to Feb 2018?  That does seem odd and way out of timeframe!!  You should have heard something 180 days after Jan 24 as far as what I've come to understand....

I moved in June but didn't submit an AR-11 until December. Still, the old address was my parent's house and I asked them about the RFE after you mentioned it. No mail received at the old address or new address ever in regards to I-130, except the acceptance notice. We filed the I-130 in conjunction with I-485. The I-485 is ready to be scheduled for an interview. It's just the I-130 that's concerning because most couples got theirs approved months ago, long before the interview date.

Received his appointment date for interview at the embassy in Manila last Saturday morning for April 17th at 8:10 AM!!

I am so excited!

However, That same time I received news that my mother-in-law just passed away during that night. We are so devastated, she was only 49 years old. Some complications from hyperthyroid caused her heart to fail.

It looks like I will be flying there April 10- May 1st. And we will fly back together.

First and foremost I'm sorry to hear about your mother in law, may her soul rest in peace. I wish you and your spouse much needed strength, love and light during these dark days.

And congrats on the interview date👌

Is this topic closed for good? I thought I check on everyone to see if all Jan 2017 fillers in this forum is all good and now migrated to the US and living the dream. It would be nice to hear your experiences and what have you :)

His interview went well but we were missing his original certificate of marriage. (Aka CEMAR or CENOMAR.) It had arrived at the address we had it shipped to the night before the interview and we couldn't get the original delivered in time. So 8 days later they just issued his visa today.

Where can you find the status on when to receive the green card in mail?

On the USCIS website, check status and put in your receipt number, the status will show

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do

It'll tell you when it has been shipped so within a few days it should be in the mail

Hi Yeonin, the receipt number you are talking about, is it the first case number that USCIS assigned or which one is it?

You should have received a new receipt number when the application for your card was filed after entry into the USA, Form OS155A, that's what paying the immigrant fee is for.

Nope, it's a new one you receive after etry into the USA, it's connected to having paid the immigrant fee before or after you get here permanently
