I am 6 months pregnant and i am really frustrated. NVC approved my petition on 12-21-16 and sent me a link to apply for a k1 visa. When i go onto that links website it says i have to apply for form ds260 or a ds160. I am very confused. I went on to the visa webpage and put in my case number and it says my case is ready for interview. How do i make this interview? I contacted the us embassy in Ciudad Juarez i am currently working with. Apparently they don't receive phone calls. Please help!!!

The embassy should send you an email to schedule your interview I believe. I know ours is a different country. It it took a month after NVC sent the paperwork to get an interview date. Our embassy got the info 11-23-2016 our interview is Feb 3rd.

I emailed several times. I know you are frustrated, you prob want to be here before you have the baby but you just have to go by what they say unfortunately

Yes each country works a bit different. In Jamaica you complete the DS160, email the confirmation barcode to the embassy, and then you are able to go online and schedule your interview.

No, please do not email anything to anywhere. CDJ does not communicate via email, everything is by hardcopy (mail). Each consulate has their own policies and procedures, with that said, the responses above are not CDJ consulate-specific.

Here's a couple links to start reading about the process and what else is needed:

CDJ consulate link on Fiance Visa procedures: https://mx.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/

CDJ consulate-specific instructions: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/CDJ - Ciudad Juarez.pdf (this is what is commonly referred to as part of packet 4, it's included with the "invitation" letter that you receive from CDJ when they are ready for you to schedule the interview)

Here's a quick run-down:

Once you're done with the DS-160, print and save the confirmation (you'll need it later). Next, with your CDJ case number and DS-160 confirmation number, go here https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/iv/information/k_visa and follow the steps to create an account. Once you create the account and are in, this is where you schedule your ASC (biometrics) and interview appts after you make the VISA fee payment on this system.

Don't forget to research and plan your trip and which medical facility you'll be going to for the medical exam. Some are by appt/walk-in.

Good luck!

And :time:as it helps US help YOU :)
