Hi first post :P

I just got a cancellation letter (today!) from the USCIS office said that the interview was canceled due to "unforeseen circumstances". My schedule was 12/14/2016, and the notice date was 11/23/2016.
I've saw some similar question about this but they were happened few years ago. Any thoughts? Should I still shows up on the original scheduled date?

Thanks for help!

and btw, my app# start from NBC. (since just read the post down there :0) does that effect?

Everybody is affected. “Effective immediately offices are instructed not to approve or oath any naturalization case" until further notice. You can read more about it here:

um, I just realized this is a pretty new info... my notice was send out on 11/23, little bit earlier than 11/29.

so all those are because of the same problem?

According to this article (last paragraph), they are still permitted to conduct interviews, but are not permitted to approve or oath. It's also still not clear if this applies to everyone, or only those with IOE numbers.

My husband has his interview scheduled for 12/15/16, and we haven't received any cancellation. He has an NBC number and we'll find out soon if it will affect him...

I've also seen that interviews can be cancelled/rescheduled if the file doesn't get to the field office on time, so perhaps it was something like that? Good luck to you and I hope your interview gets rescheduled soon!
