I'm sorry, but I highly doubt that the 0.5 seconds that your ears are "subjected" to loud music will do anything long term.

Now if they tied you up, threw you in the car and drove you across America you may have a leg to stand on.

0.5 seconds? Who said that? LOL. If you're exposed to it for 30 minutes, 1 hour...and daily, do you think it's not going to harm your ears?

We're not talking about 0.5 second. We're talking about boom cars. You know, the one that rattles the bookcase, your pans, plates inside your building when their close by.

Hey guys I just wanted ask that everyone remain open minded and not pick on one group or otherwise. In fairness I know people of all backgrounds that listen to loud music. It is all preference and likely changes as time passes and certain types of music come back go... I remember hearing how people in the 60's thought that crazy 'rock and roll' was too loud and active and it was making the young people crazy! Anyhow, please just keep perspective and I hope this topic can stay friendly. Thank you!

Ever drive by a car that has their music cranked up to the max? Ever had to listen to a car that vibrates even your apartment building, like a earthquake?

Most times these cars have Peurto Ricans, Spanish music playing. A human theshold of hearing is an average of 90 dB. The exposure I received from these loudness over time have caused my ear to decrease in their sensitivity. I don't understand why there is a need to have loud music playing like that. I am ready to file a lawsuit for the compensation. These people will need to pay for their disturbances. I'm sick of it.

Welcome to America, the biggest melting pot in the world. If you can't accept the differences in between music, irregardless of how loud it is played, I would suggest you move to a desolate island where only you and your fiancee will exist. That way, you won't ever have to deal with other people and there annoying habits.

As far as presenting a lawsuit, you will waste your time and money. You've offended Latino's in your original post but I don't see lawsuits being filed for emotional distresss or slander.

If you and your fiancee don't start learning to appreciate the differences that America has, you are in for a long hard life...

I suppose you haven't experienced the music loudness that rattles your pots, pans, bookshelf, and your apartment daily. If you have, then you know what I am talking about. It's not whether or not the music is loud. It's disturbingly harmful. It's written in the Journal of Medicine that the threshold of hearing is 90 dB. I still find it funny that a few of you honestly think that I'm attacking loud music. When you find music that rattles your ear that creates a painful feeling, you know when the music becomes dangerous.

I noticed when I went to another country that the natives seem to hear better than I do. Gee, what could've caused that?

I have experienced loud music and noisy neighbors driving in our apartment parking there car blasting loud music in the wee early hours in the morning for almost a year. So we did do something about it we moved into a very nice quiet neighborhood so quiet you can hear a pin drop lol.

I moved to a nice quiet neighborhood too . . . it is the drive-thrus (normally) that you can hear (feel???) coming from blocks away. It is not even music that I hear . . . it is just the bass BOOM BOOM BOOM . . .

OK, I do listen to my music loud in my car, but I turn the bass nearly off because it does hurt my ears. I have a friend (much younger, hehe) that plays her music loud . . . when I get in her car I get blasted out!!! When I ask her to turn it down, she gets all offended. I don't ride in her car anymore. Strange thing, when I have friends get in my car . . . I turn the music down!!

I can't go to concerts anymore because I have noticed that the music is just too loud for me . . . even some movies are TOO loud. :crying:

That would knock out more than the stereo. It would probably imobilize the entire vehicle. A big enough EMP pulse might render several vehicles inoperable. Entirely illegal, use at your own risk type of nasty stuff right there.

Maybe so, maybe so.....

but worth a try, anyway.

LOL
