Can anyone that have experience in this tell me roughly step by step how to apply for my parents to come and live in US permanently? I google a lot however the information I get is very vary and overwhelming

Here is what I know

- File form I-130 Petition for Alien Relative

- File form I485 Application to Register Permanent Resident Adjust Status

- File form 864 Affidavit of Support

My situation:

My husband is US citizen by birth, I got mine through marriage to him. Both my parents stay in my country (oversee).

Financially I rely on my husband, I got my day job however it only enough to cover half of the family bill. My husband is able and more than willing to sponsor for my parents.

My parents doing very well financially by themselves if they sell their business and estates to move to US permanently, bottom line is once they got to the U.S. they can take care of themselves.

My husband is an officer in the U.S. Army, hopefully this would help the process.

My problem:

I can't find any information about how to fill out Form I864, in which case Son-in-law sponsor Wife's parents ( or he sponsor me to sponsor my parents?!?)

Please forgive my stupidity in this, I'm still learning to do all this by myself in order to save on Lawyer fee. Around my area, it cost up to 5 grands to fill out just these paperwork.

Thank you kindly.

Our Guides here explain the process well: http://www.visajourney.com/content/immigration-parents-overview

You will be the primary sponsor and fill out a I-864; your husband can join his income to yours by filling put a I-864A

hi

as said read the guides, you don't file the i485 because that is for adjusting status in the US, they will go through consular processing and have the interview in their country

Usually the big issue with PArents is Health Insurance. Now if they will be working etc that can be manageable.
