My fiancée just walked out of the embassy in Moscow. She had her interview today, 10 minutes ago. We are approved!! I want to thank VJ and all those that post on this site. I literally checked this site everyday for tips. I'm sure I will use VJ as we go through the green card process, but that's nothing compared to waiting for the K1. It only took 3.5 months for us.

For those that are wondering, she tells me the interview was short and easy. Just very basic questions about our relationship and meetings. Though we meet 5 times and some visits were nearly 3 weeks long, and we never went over 30 days without seeing each other, so proving the relationship was easy.

Good luck to everyone else waiting.

P.S. .. Now I face the same question I have seen asked 100 times .. when to buy the plane ticket .. We don't have visa in hand, but the officer told her it will be done within the week. I will buy a ticket, it's only money.

I hope so too. But it's worth the gamble to lose a few hundred dollars to have my future bride with me sooner, not that big of a loss financially anyway.

Also, about Administrative Processing. Moscow embassy does it a little different. Everyone goes into AP before the interview. Our status went from READY to AP, so I called the embassy and they told me this is normal. READY means you can schedule the Interview. Once you schedule the interview it goes to AP until the Visa is printed. Then the status goes to ISSUED. I talked to 2 people at the embassy, they both told me the same thing.

Not true. We didn't.

Fair enough. But this is what the embassy told me. And it's also what happened to us. One thing to note though, after the interview we went from AP back READY. So I assume sometime this week we will move to ISSUED.
