I can tell you there are not too many cases left for 10/28 that have not yet been worked so hopefully you should get an approval by end of next week.

If you haven't already you can join us over at the November thread as many there are from late October as well including us.

Jim

Hello everyone, how's everyone doing? I'm sorry I do have another question, I asked a friend of mine who I met through the K1 Visa group on Facebook and she basically gave me a checklist of paperwork I need to prepare for my partner's interview. Under the "Petitioner's Documents" column, there is an item there for "NVC Letter Copy" so does this mean that I should be expecting something in the mail after the NOA2? We also just got our MNL case number this morning from NVC via email so I'm wondering what's in the NVC letter and how important it is. Thank you!

I've attached the checklist down below for reference but I believe this is specific to the Philippines.

From what I understand no one ever gets this letter and I think you just need to show them the MNL number page from USCIS(print out the confirmation). Anyways, we never bothered with it during our K1 visa process and had no problems.

Sawasdee krup! Just be aware that it took it took about 25 days for our case to go from the CSC to the NVC and then another 15 days for our case to go from "At NVC" to "In Transit" to "Ready" at the Bangkok Embassy. They're very responsive via e-mail, by the way. But don't bother calling them - they'll tell you to e-mail instead!

Not necessarily true. I've seen plenty of people get the NVC letter. Some don't. It's a crapshoot, basically. I got mine but I'd imagine that you don't need the letter itself to proceed. Just the NVC number is all that's needed. (Side note: the NVC number is incorrectly called "MNL" because we've got so many Filipinas here!)

Sawasdee krup.  Thanks for the response.  I have been busy reading many of the posts here, and noted the long time for you and others in Thailand to progress from NOA2 to getting Packet 3.

(This whole thing is amazingly complex.  I am learning a brand new language...555)

We are getting ramped up for all the next stage docs.

The whole Thailand sub-forum has been very helpful in answering many of my questions.  David (and Noom) have some great, detailed posts which have been great to read.

From the looks of things, your visa has been approved and soon will be in the USA together.  Congrats!

I would argue that the immigration process itself is far more difficult than the Thai language, especially when you have an attractive teacher! :jest:

Yes, the sub-form is awesome for Thai-specific stuff, especially after the NVC phase of the process and through the embassy part of the process. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have as I've just gone through the process myself.

Her visa was approved on 24 January and she received it via Thai Post EMS on 27 January. We booked her flight the same day! She lands in Philly on Thursday. Good luck to you and your fiance(e) and I hope you're reunited soon!

Well they are dealing with the Philippines, thus why I responded since that's what I'm familiar with and I thought he would understand that answer?
