I am with my fiance in the Philippines right now and we're starting the K-1 process. We were told (right now) - the only thing I need to return to the US with is the I-129F form (filled out by her and I), and the letter of intent to marry.

- When do we complete the G-325A form? Should we do that now as well?

- The I-129F form says "Expires 6/30/16" (even on the official government website). Is this fine to use (as I see no other form)?

- Also, do I need a copy of her (Philippine) birth certificate to send with the I-129F, or just my US certificate?

Thanks, I'm sure more questions to come!

Yes, each of you need to fill out a G325 to go with the petition. You both need to write letters of intent to marry (see examples on this site). You do not need her BC for the petition. You can use the form from the USCIS website, no issues. Remember that your petition is not complete without evidence of having met in person (passport stamps, boarding passes, pictures). Read the guides here, they'll give you a kick-start.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Yes we are/have been reading the guides but it doesn't state WHEN to do the G-325A form... Do I submit that with the I-129F or does that form come later? How about our other questions? Expiration date etc?

The I-129F form instructions tell you everything that is required. You should always read through form instructions before filling out and submitting them. This will be very helpful for all the forms you will need to fill out throughout the entire immigration process.

As for form expiration, see this post > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/601263-form-expiration-dates-do-not-matter-pay-attention-to-the-edition-dates/

The guide does state in item #7 and item #9 to complete the 325 for both petitioner and beneficiary.

It's a good time to do this now while your there because you can get beneficiary's original signature.

I wouldn't worry about the expiration date, that is the latest revision of form on USCIS website so I would use that.

The instructions were confusing for me, and I had this same question. I watched several youtube videos where people walked through their i-129f packets and I felt more confident sending mine off. I included the number of photos they suggested for proof of a relationship, and they asked for additional evidence. Don't overdo it, but send them enough evidence so maybe they won't ask you for more in a few months. I applied in April, and my fiancee just was able to schedule his interview at the consulate for November 14. It's taking a lot longer than the 5 months that I read it would take. Calling USCIS with questions can be hit or miss; so many times the operators told me the USA never sends mail to Mexico, which of course isn't true. Well, good luck and be patient! :)
