I can tell you my experience. I met my fiance online as well. He was working in Qatar when we met but ended up going back to Nigeria when his contract ended. I visited him in Nigeria for one week (had the best time ever and felt safe the entire time). We started the K-1 process once I came back. The most nerve-racking part of the process for us was the USCIS wait...not the interview. I have not gone back to visit a second time meaning I was not on site when he interviewed. He was approved with ease and his interview lasted all of 5 minutes. This is not to say that everyone will have the same experience but most of the stories I've read for Nigeria are similar. I think it's a matter of your documentation and just being confident in answering any questions. The questions weren't all that tough either. I was very worried about the short visit but we had no problem at all with that and others have attested to the same. The only thing that could be concerning is that you have no pics together.

My plan B is to get approved the first time!! I have no plan B, but in the case we dont, Me and my kids are all going on a trip to Lagos, I am getting married, and we will go broke from visiting while waiting for two years to be together LOL Whatever it takes. I just hope that it doesn't end up being that way.

Ziggy, you will be fine as you have pictures and him being nice to your daughter. At the embassy they will ask if you plan to have children together as for a Nigerian man is very important to have his own child or children, you need to be prepared to this question. We also met online and I can understand you being so much in love with a Nigerian man, they are very loving and if they good, they are very good. Also I understand you reading some horror stories and worrying, my advice, better don't read, lol! I did too and trying to learn more about mixed couples reading it made me so scared, lol!

I would say it will help if you visit him, you alone and a short visit, some time together again. I know it's not easy financially as your fiance doesn't have a job, are there jobs in Nigeria, lol? My fiance work sometimes, not easy over there. But what I see, Nigeria embassy is not so bad, they are very polite and answer US citizens emails, apparently all good, not so many denials as in Ghana.

Good luck to you! I see he is your Angel who supported you in your hard times, everything will be well, maybe you should write a little story how supportive was he and how did you fall in love, sign it and give your fiance for his interview

Convince the CO of reasons why you were unable or chose to not go to Nigeria to meet his family in a letter that he can bring to the interview

and present if asked why you did not meet his family.

Example, you wanted your daughter and fiance to meet but felt it was unsafe to take her to Nigeria.

Attach chats and screen shots of communication with his family.

Make it short and sweet without drawing overly detailed attention to the fact you didn't meet them.

It's never bad. My K1 interview on 16th was very soothing. Have no doubts and fears. Just be confident. My interview lasted like 3mins. Most Questions will come from ur i129F form. You can email ur fiance a copy so he can master it. I was surprised when I was told to go

Though that was your good experience, you can't say it is never 'bad' for others.

You don't know what most questions are that will be asked for others.

It is simply not that easy an experience for most applicants.

True, it's never easy because you never know how the CO is feeling about you and it doesn't depend of you at all. But we all know, as American citizens we have this right to bring our fiance(e), our family and the immigration services do they job trying to verify it's real, maybe they delay but they process and eventually approve our right to have a family in our country. This is good

1. It's a chance, not a right.

2. Not always, and it's not a right.

Never underestimate the consular phase of this process.
