Hey my interview is scheduled on august 19th at Mumbai Consulate, my question here is whether do i have to complete my biometrics ie: fingerprint and photos in the same embassy on the same date or do i have to schedule an appointment by going to the usa travel docs website. i have already scheduled an appt at the mumbai consulate to be on a safer side for my biometrics. but was really confused. can i complete my biometrics at my home city and attend the interview in mumbai?

Yes you must schedule biometrics before your appointment or they will reschedule you.

I have seen someone that got case complete before me and I got an interview and he didn't. What I found out was that his petitioner isn't a citizen so he had to wait. Is your petioner a citizen?

No. I'm the petitioner. I will be going home to accompany my husband to his interview. what I have with me is my old passport with my old last name. I am now using my husbands last name on my Ca id and ssn

From what I know, once you get a new passport, the old one gets cancelled, you can't have two active passports from the same country

I may be mistaken though!

i dont have a new one. the one i have right now doesnt expire until 2021 ?. but it has my old last name.

i dont have a new one. the one i have right now doesnt expire until 2021 ?. but it has my old last name.

I think you'll have problems when you try to go through security, because I know they want the name on the ticket to match the name on the passport. Unless you want to just carry around the original copy of your marriage certificate with you, that might work, but it's not guaranteed. You don't want to just get a new passport with your new name instead? If you get it expedited you can get it in 2-3wks (with an additional fee of course).

So guess what happened earlier, they touched our case. We have another update today. That's 2 so far, hopefully we get out of AP and he gets issued ♧

1/15/2016 Called NVC and got case/invoice number logged into this site to pay fees, pick agent -> https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx 1/15/2016 picked agent DS-261

1/18/2016 paid aos fee

1/28/2016 review 261 to get iv fee unlocked ( unlocked once I did review,was taking to long)

2/1/ 2016 sent AOS & IV packets together to nvc while I waited for iv fee to open to save time.

2/4/2016 paid IV Fee and waited to do ds260

2/3/2016 nvc received aos and iv packets(scan date)

2/7/2016 ds260 completed and now waiting for cc

Handed in aos sept 11th

Set 18th another update

Sept 28th update and embassy called

SEPT 29TH ISSUED FINALLY

OCT 2nd visa in hand

POE October 22nd 2016

I dont expect it to take this long...... I checked Nigerians timeline and most of them got their interview date 7days after case complete. This is taking longer than expected and its driving me nut!!!!!!

Have you called to see if Nigeria started. I have;t heard any of my 9ja friends get anything yet Call them. abeg :goofy:

Wasn't this thing first in, first out?

There are sometimes they go by your PD (NA1 date). Some people have filed over a year ago. Or they might be an expedite, petitioner filed from abroad, what is their visa type. Alot of factors. Maybe they are going i alphabetical order and your name just hasn't come up. It's just Monday you know. scheduling is complete when they either run out of slots (the usual) or run out of cases to fill the slots (highly unlikely)

Also they could also be from anther country (Syrian Iran, Iraq, Yemen) and interviewing in Morocco and they usually get first shot.

Just stay positive your turn will come.

Congratulations, Jelena! That's great news :) Hopefully, it gets issued as fast (or at least close to that) as Gargalmon's!

So guess what happened earlier, they touched our case. We have another update today. That's 2 so far, hopefully we get out of AP and he gets issued ♧

I hope they issue it soon, fingers crossed!

As for me - still no interview letter. And I'm starting to worry that the interview date I was given on the phone may not be accurate. Sooooo nervous right now, because it's close to a week...

Old passport is alright ticket has to be in the nae of the passport.
