I don't think you did anything wrong - it sometimes takes a while for some field offices to schedule interviews because of the backlog

Since October 7 (almost 2weeks ago) i have no update on my EAD. My AP status changed to "Case was approved" on October 7 too, but EAD is still at "New card is being produced". I was just wondering how long it took to receive the card for all of you who already have the combo card? Thank you.

Also my AOS status is still at "Response to RFE was received" since September 9. I wonder if i should call and ask about it or is it anywhere else where i can check how backlogged is my field office? Thank you again.

Congrats to everyone who got approved!

Did you do an e-request on USCIS website? I did that and learned my fingerprint did not go through. I just redid it last Friday and the website gives me update. Try the e-request.

Thank you for the tip. Luckily no need in this for now :)

Hi!! we are also July filers, already received EAD Card 10/04 but I-485 status has been "Case is Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview" for awhile now. anybody have the same situation ? I know It is still within the filing time but kinda nervous that we might have did something wrong.

My case was set to this status on September 6th and then updated to the same status on October 4th. So it's been a while for me too. But I got an update just this morning to "Interview scheduled". This happened the day after I got an update on my EAD case. So, I guess, my papers just finally got to the processing person.

I see that you are from the Bay Area too, so I assume that you should get your Interview update soon as well.

Quote:"On the way back I was thinking what else can I do, was emailing my employer and messaging my wife.

And suddenly I got a notification from USCIS: "New Card Is Being Produced" ! OH MY GOSH!"

Awesome! This is God at work ☺️☺️☺️

I am praying that you will get your card in less than the 2 weeks we had to wait.

Thank you, Chrysty! Yeah, in such occasions you truly feel his presence, there is no other way to explain why this is happening :)

Congrats dmytro.d

Finally your call is being answered.

Thank you, Tara0921! I hope you will get an update on your case very soon too. We need to keep being within the same timelines as we did before ;)

Anyone that received EAD already, can you tell us where it is being mailed from and how many days from "Card produced" to being picked up by USPS?

i never heard of any update to my case almost two weeks after sending a response for an RFE. I dont know if they already touched it nor received it. My hopes depend on the USPS tracking that it was delivered in Charlotte NC field office.

Others say it's normal. But im praying a change in case status would somehow be, "Response to RFE received".

Hey everybody, I filed for AOS and AED on July 8, 2016 with a NOA date of July 15, 2016. We had our biometrics appointment on August 10, 2016...I did get an RFE for leaving a section blank on my AOS paperwork, I received the RFE on August 23, 2016 (My birthday,, such a terrible present to receive! ) I took my time and hopefully filled the papers out correctly.. I sent the RFE response to the center as requested, and the received the response on Septempter 8, 2016. Since then, I have heard nothing. I know it has only been 6 weeks but I am just wondering if there is anything else I can be doing in the mean time. I have checked my USCIS.gov status and that is all that it tells me. It does list a receipt number for my response, but where can i put that number in to get an more information (or is that even a possibility?) Thanks for any help or advice.

Megan

i sent my RFE papers back on September 2, They "received my RFE response" on september 8, and I've had no change whatsoever. They say that 60 days for a RFE is normal, and that it is considered normal. but I'm getting antsy, i feel your pain.

Well, on the positive note for you, at least you knew already they got yout RFE response.

While on my case, i didnt even know if it already touches the table of the officer. All i know it's delivered on Oct 11.

What field office did you send your rfe response by the way?

On the brighter side though, i got my EAD 2 weeks ago. ???

So I went to the local USCIS office (in San Jose) today hoping to be able to get in as a walk in customer. But they told that they don't have this policy there. I asked if there is any other way to figure out my question: "Check if my address was correctly changed on my I-765 case". Because after the address change that I have initiated I have received a confirmation on I-485 only.

So the lady told that I can actually call on USCIS hot line and they will tell me. But I called them twice with this question and they were not able to answer that question!

So a lady responded that you need to escalate a request to a higher level officer. Why no one told me that before? I see the only answer possible - USCIS does not really care you will get your answer ASAP until you will know how to ask that question the way they will not be able to say "We don't know".

So here is my tip - if an operator on the phone says that they don't have access to the needed information - ask for a higher level officer!

I called to USCIS while standing by the office, and heard the same story from the first operator - "I am sorry we can't answer your question. You should make an InfoPass appointment and go to USCIS field office" (usually you can make an appointment in 2 weeks(!) from the current date!). And then I just requested a higher level officer adding that I've been told that he can do that and she immediately transferred me to him. And my question was answered :)

Card is being ordered today. Looks like our timeline is tracking identically now. Let us know when you receive it in the mail.

Anyone that received EAD already, can you tell us where it is being mailed from and how many days from "Card produced" to being picked up by USPS?

As far as I have noticed following what people report - it is 2 weeks in average. The case status should update to "Card been mailed", and an update may include a tracking number. But everything is optional here: case status might not update at all and you will receive a card; status will update to "been mailed" but with no tracking number; "New Card Is Being Produced" status can be active for a while before it will finally be mailed. So we just need more patience.

While calling to USCIS today I've heard an update on my case twice and both times I have heard different timelines for me receiving a card is currently being produced: either 30 or 60 days. I really hope it will not take that long :)

Also when you check you case status on USCIS web site as a logged in user there is a Next Step section which says "We will notify you if your document cannot be produced and provide any instructions.".

There is so many obstacles behind every corner :(

Patience and best of luck to everyone!
