Filed on 27th and nothing yet :-(

Don't be discouraged, you're still in a normal timeframe to receive your NOA1!

Even though we will be dealing with an apparently easy embassy (London), we front-loaded our petition with evidence of a relationship. I probably got a little carried away with other supporting documentation and included my passport scans as well as my BC because I wasn't sure if the BC is the "long form" they ask for or not. It is the BC with which I obtained my passport last year, so I'm assuming it is sufficient, but I didn't want to get an RFE about that. With all of the documents and evidence we submitted, the package was about 100 pages, but looked very tidy with tabs at the bottom and two-hole-punched at the top. I have uploaded an image of this to my profile because I wasn't able to find where to upload it to this post. In any case, good luck to everyone, my fellow July filers! :dancing:

I front-loaded too and ended up with 94 pages. I was looking at a lot of timelines and RFEs can delay the process by months. ?

Yay! I'll keep you posted if I hear anything on my end. Kudos to your fiance - my head would be spinning if I did this when I was in grad school! But love moves mountains, haha. All the best! :)

Yup yup, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you, and I will let you know :thumbs:All the best to you too!!

Yeah, it was quite a challenge. I basically put everything together remotely and then provided directions for every step but still, he did physically put all the documents together, printed stuff etc. Hope USCIS also recognizes the dedication!

At this point I have no idea if Ankara is an easy embassy or not, but we tried to frontload as much as we can, without going overboard. We did include 7 photos from when he visited me in Turkey, and 3 from before then when I was at grad school with him in the US. We also included a few pictures, mostly collages of pictures printed on plain paper from before the 2 years limit since we were physically together in the US for a couple of years at the start of the relationship, which I guess is different than most experiences here. Also imessage screenshots, 2 from each month we have been together going back three years because that's how long the imessage log went, skype logs etc. We did not have a lot of physical evidence like tickets, boarding passes, receipts but we included his itineraries, passport stamps, bank statements for them, with the Turkey purchases highlighted. And a couple of emails and gchats here and there. Because I did not put the package together myself I have no idea how many pages it is. Hope all that will be enough. I read this website for hours upon hours during this process, and I am sure like everyone here, I really really really REALLY do not want an RFE.

Again good luck to everyone!

The waiting is killing me :clock: :clock: :clock:

I'm a bit late to the party! I mailed out our petition on July 23rd, got a text/email notification that it had been accepted yesterday, August 2nd! And today they cashed the check so I guess we're just waiting on the hardcopy of the NOA1 now :)

A little background info: I'm a US citizen and my partner is Australian. We met while I was on a temporary visa there last year and worked/lived together for about 8 months. We found out I was pregnant and I moved back home before my visa expired so I could start working and seeing a doctor. He's heartbroken that he probably won't be here for the birth of our daughter but we are hopeful that this process will be smooth and relatively quick! It is frustrating how erratic it all seems though. Some people seem to get approved within weeks while others go well over 5 months and hear nothing!

Our package was about 50 pages all in all with 34 photos, plus copies of ultrasounds, bus ticket receipts, passport pages, and a few emails between the two of us. I didn’t send any FB message transcripts because I thought it would be too much! I hope there’s enough evidence in there without needing those…

Fingers crossed! I’m excited to start seeing some July filers get approved :)

Good luck to everyone!

Good luck,

Try not to worry to much - we are expecting an RFE because we definitely did not submit 50 Pages.. is there a way you can contact USCIS and ask them if it would affect your Petition if he comes on a Visa Waiver for the Birth ? i totally understand as we have a 14 month old together and live in Australia together while we wait for the K1 and Process.

Yay for NOA1 and congrats on the baby! :goofy:

There seem to be quite a number of USC with Australian beneficiaries filing in July so you are in good company here. I am not one of them btw but I am excited nonetheless.

I think the photos, and the other things plus the baby should be proof enough. You are on a good path, your hard copy for NOA1 will make it to you soon. The notices seem to come towards the end of the week, from my own experience and what I have read here.

I was also wondering about the time it takes to get an approval and NOA2. I am confused because I read quite a few threads, this year and 2015 where people got their NOA2s in less than 2 months, sometimes in a month or so but the official number from the service centers is 5 months and visajourney predicts my NOA2 to come at the end of september, which is 2 and a half months from when we filed. I don't know what to think anymore.

Here's to hoping for the best

I was studying the charts for Australia beneficiaries last week and noticed some people get notices between 29 days - 2 months, one outlier got their NOA2 in 2 weeks! Their process slowed down though and they ended up receiving their visa around the (seemingly) typical 5/6 months start to visa. Im going to start keeping an ear out after 4 weeks. Im trying to forget about it but who am I kidding? Haha.

It's crazy the difference in processing times. I found one I think it was in the February filers that received their NOA2 in 14 days, then another who filed in January and is still waiting on NOA2 over 7 months later! Tortugarouge, where do you find these charts for Australian beneficiaries? I would love to take a look... Not sure it will help with my patience though haha

Arih3,

In my opinion i believe that each case is different and who ever process's your petition and K1 Visa varies. but at the end of it all the times frames look like on average it is around the 6 month period

There is Igor's list for processing times here

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?op1=&op2=&op3=1&op4=1&op5=&op6=All

and K-1 timelines you can sort by country here

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?op1=&op2=&op3=1&op4=1&op5=&op6=All

jaffandliz you are right it does all seem to average to 5/6 months except for extreme cases, but then we have all this time to obsess over it so...

I was looking at spreadsheets here:

I hear you on the patience but what's exciting is that we're all here in it together to keep morale up! :)
