Poll: Clinton leads Trump in Arizona

A new poll shows Hillary Clinton running ahead of Donald Trump in Arizona, where a Democratic presidential candidate has carried the state only once in the last 64 years.

A survey by Phoenix-based OH Predictive Insights found Clinton taking 46.5 percent support over Trump at 42.2 percent.

About 6 percent of respondents said they would vote for an unspecified third-party candidate, while 5.6 percent said they’re undecided.

Former President Bill Clinton is the last Democrat to carry the state, narrowly defeating Bob Dole there in 1996, when Reform Party candidate Ross Perot was also on the ballot. Prior to Clinton, the last Democratic presidential candidate to carry the state was Harry Truman, in 1948.

Mitt Romney defeated President Obama in Arizona in 2012 by 9 points.

“It’s shocking to think that a Democratic presidential candidate would carry Arizona if the election were held today, considering that every statewide office in Arizona is held by a Republican as well as significant majorities in the Arizona House and Senate,” Wes Gullett, a partner at OH Predictive Insights, told the Phoenix Business Journal. “Arizona should be a reliable red state.”

There's a lot of baghdad bob being dropped from CNN and the like about Clinton vs Trump so that dems can sleep soundly this summer (I get it, I would do the same if the side I was in was leading--and I have).

And Hillary has always been favored to win against Trump, leading in the polls consistently for months with small exception a few weeks ago, but one thing people keep underestimating is the support Trump can get.

Also, frankly, people STILL don't get Trump is so supported. He has less die hard supporters than die hard Hillary haters; the left tries to understand Trump's appeal. It's the wrong question. The proper question is why is Hillary so reviled by the right? As other polls have shown, in near equal measure people are voting for Trump as an anti-hillary vote (and also the polls show the same anti-trump vote in hillary--less of two evil approach).

For many it doesn't matter what trump does, they'll vote for him, simply because they will put anybody there instead of Hillary.

It's true, some people love Trump they don't realize he is a grenade ready to go off. It's also true some people (basically old women) also literally actually love and admire Hillary, all fifteen of them.

This is going to be the crappiest election in my life. Just like Brexit one side will gloat on election night and the other will be infuriated to a degree even the Gore sore losers in 2000 would consider untasteful.
