Hey guys,

I am pisssssssssssssssed again!!!!

I thought me and my fiance would get our NOA2 by this week.

Yesterday he called them to get his name straight, from Yohn back to John.

This woman on the phone (not sitting at CSC) tells him, that she fills out a service ticket and that it can take up to 45 days to fix it!!!!

Are they kidding me???? 45 days?!?!?!

####### takes so damn long??? They can't just take it and put it in the computer???

man I am soooooooo frustrated and pissed, that I really have no words for that!! :crying:

If anyone ever had the same experience I would love to know, how long it took for you!!!

The fog is getting tighter again....batteries appreciated :(

You need to realise,..

The people you speak to when you ring that national number, are simply call centre representatives. They have a very basic database from which they draw information from, and are limited in the way they can help you.

When they draw up a service request,..that request is sent through the computer system to the area relevant to your initial enquiry. Some areas requests are obviously going to have longer delays than others due to the type of enquiry. I understand your frustration with the standard 45 day spiel, but that is usually worst case scenario. Also, that centre is a NATION wide facility, and therefore take enquiries and requests from all over the USA, and worldwide in some cases, like myself. so they takes thousands of enquiries a day.

These people cannot even change an address a lot of the time, they are not allowed to. Every time I have had to ring them, my inquiry has been beyond their capability, and they have offered to transfer me to an Immigration officer, who has direct access to the USCIS, and DHS database, or put in a service request. I have opted for the earlier of the two, have spoken to an immigration officer, and had my problem in most cases rectified, because they have access, and are allowed to do more with your case file.

Immigration is a very frustrating process and I truly feel for you, but hopefully, that clarifies things a little for you.

And, always get a name of someone you speak to,....it often helps when recalling...sometimes they say their name and identifying number so quick, Idont hear it,..so I always ask them to repeat it, before I start my inquiry. This helped me recently, after being put through to an immigration officer, that officer, was a little stumped as to how to process what I was requesting...and I said I spoke to Officer such and such last time, if thats any help. She said, thank you ma'am, that officer is here now, just let me confer with her and I'll be right back. My problem was rectified, and I was happy...

Just food for thought,..

Good Luck,..

I'm so sorry Diana for this new problem. :(:(:( I don't know what to say but reading Jodee's reply, she seemed can truly relate to what you're going through so maybe you should listen to what she said. I can't believe setbacks could come one after another... I can understand how upset and pissed you are from all these. Just keep your faith sister... I know you and John can pull it off...

*hugs*

Pissed, sad, disappointed....a lot of different emotions are working in me right now :(

I feel so helpless and empty....it' just so frustrating.

When you think, that you are close and then the next sh!t happens.

I couldn't help but cry myself to sleep last night. John didn't want to hear anything about the process yesterday, because he was stressed at work and didn't want to build up more stress. So I kept it to myself....I just shared it with Mr.J ...a teddy bear my future husband sent me!

Mr.J was very understanding

I just want the process to be over and want to be with my fiance!!

Diana...

Am sure it's ok...I think that 45 Days thing is a standard response and doesn't take that long in reality.

I changed my address (I know, not the same thing) between NOAs and the automated response was "Up To 45 days" as well - in actuality it didn't take anywhere near that long and may even have been right away...

I know you're probably tired of people saying "It'll be OK" but stay positive.. a lot of people are pulling for you guys... (F)

Diana,

That makes my stomach churn ! They made the error, yet you are being penalized ?? Thats just twisted. Jodee gave you some good advise so I hope today you will feel a bit refreshed and make some progress in your circumstance . I'm praying it won't take the course of 45 days to correct THEIR mess.

Don't trash the batteries quite yet. Recharge them with courage and hope. The fog may appear thicker in their culture starved neck of the woods, (or should I say their big, giant fish estuary), but it does'nt have to mean it can't be penetrated at some point . Onward, girl!

Standard protocol in any good service center (ie., CSC) is to give yourself a cushion when managing customers expectations. Tell the customer it will be done in a week, and complete it in 2 days... and you're a Super Star. The flip-side of the coin is to promise 2 days and then take 5.

I'm not worried about it one bit.

Yeah guys, I am pissed, yet I accept the fact, that it will take longer and that I will spend my birthday not with my future husband, but with my family!

Believe me...I am not going to celebrate it, I will wait with the party until I have my visa..before that time, there is nothing to celebrate.

Sorry about the dumb standard answer of the USCIS, but I agree with a few others here. Their standard response is to give a large time-frame cushion just in case. I gave them an address change over the phone on November 2, was told it could take awhile to process, and by November 12 had a letter in my mail confirming the new address. It is possible the name change will be done just as fast. Just be sure to carefully check any written correspondence from them when it comes, and inform them immediately of any incorrect info.
