I am now preparing for the NVC stage while waiting for the NOA2.. Hopefully it will be approved soon NOA1 was March,15 2016.

Here is my concern, my husband and I are both living abroad now, and I am registered back in the states at University for January 2017 classes.

If I don't get back in time then I will be putting off my degree completion for an additional 12months because the 2 classes are only offered once a year.

Will that be a legitamite reason to expedite our case? Or should I just be praying that it all goes through by then? :D

We have a young baby together, and I don't want to be a 'single mom' through all of this. As you can imagine, it will make moving/ working/ studying a million times harder without him.

Thanks for the advice!

Highly unlikely.

Expedites are hard to get and your reasoning is weak. Most expedite cases show medical or life threatening emergencies. Sometimes extreme poverty or war/conflict in foreigner's country is used.

Best advice is have your case well prepared so their are no RFE's to slow it done.

Good luck.

Your expedite reason is that you want to go to school?

Although a fantastic goal to achieve, it is not a reason to expedite. USCIS does not care about your educational aspirations. Especially since the the classes are offered at a later date, but you prefer not to take them then.

Good luck

Not a reason to expedite. For every case that is expedited, the rest of us are pushed back another place.

I'm sure you wouldn't be too happy if everyone else pushed you back one place just because they wanted to take a class. I'm happy to let people cut in front of me where there is war or life-threatening illnesses. But not for them to pursue their own personal goals.

Expedite Criteria

USCIS reviews all expedite requests on a case-by-case basis and requests are granted at the discretion of the office leadership. The burden is on the applicant or petitioner to demonstrate that one or more of the expedite criteria have been met.

USCIS may expedite a petition or application if it meets one or more of the following criteria:

Severe financial loss to company or person;

Emergency situation;

Humanitarian reasons;

Nonprofit organization whose request is in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States;

Department of Defense or national interest situation;

USCIS error; or

Compelling interest of USCIS.

****maybe if you can show a huge financial loss by having already paid or granted loan ??? BIG MAYBE ?

Also you still have 6 months, you did not indicate what country you are petitioning from, but it is quite possible that your visa will be issued prior to January

Fair enough my friends.

I am applying from Georgia and the don't do DCF so I am just keeping my fingers crossed we move home as a family. :thumbs:

I was just thinking if we were getting close maybe there would be a way to hurry up the NVC stage or something, but they process everything fairly quickly. Best bet is making sure everything is ready to go then and to submit as soon as possible.

Everything at the NVC stage is done by email right? or will I need to use post? My biggest concern is that sending and getting mail here is a nightmare, and least 30 days each way.
