Hi All,

I'm just putting together my folder to take to the embassy and just reaching out for input on whether or not I'm missing anything!

SO! I have:

  • Appointment Letter
  • NOA2 (Just because I had it handy)
  • Police certificate
  • Marriage Certificate
  • Birth Certificate
  • Updated Tax returns and I-864 for 2015
  • The hard copy of our wedding album (I sent around 75 individual photos to USCIS spanning the whole relationship from the beginning to the date i sent I-130)
  • All documentation relating to the Visa Medical

I plan to have my visa approved photos taken the morning of the interview (appointment is around noon).

Am I missing anything? Suggestions for anything to add?

Thanks Guys :)

Thanks for the input all, I was just erring on the side of caution with the photo album, its not particularly big or heavy anyway.

We've been married almost 4 years and have a 2 year old daughter anyway, so I think she's all the evidence we need! hah!

Now, speaking of passports - I'm pretty confused about the ais.usvisa-info.com website. It asks for a passport number, but it very clearly states that the passport number you provide matches the DS-260, or it could delay the process. I got a new passport after I'd already completed the DS-260, and now it doesn't match my valid passport.

Any advice on that??

Maybe this from London website--

I have made an error on the DS-260, what should I do?

If you have made an error when completing the DS-260 you are required to correct the error and re-transmit it if the error concerns the Background and Security questions or passport number. Please contact us through our website as we will be required to unlock your case before you can amend the information. If the error is in the biographic details, you may notify the consular officer on the day of your interview and take no further action.

Ah that looks about right! I'll reply to the email from infounit direct - usually a faster reply than the online form. Thanks for the help there! The appointment booking website sllows you to change your passport number and email address, but nothing else, but then it won't match! Wish there was just one website that was all encompassing!

You haven't made an error though, you've just changed passports. Tricky one that. I also changed passports. I will let you know if it effects anything at my interview.

Does your DS-260 have your current passport number? If not, then there is an error in the passport number on your DS-260, right?

I will say in the past, people have shown up with a different passport and London didn't seem to care at all. The interviewees told them it was a new passport and were met with a "so what?" kind of a look.

No, the DS-260 has my old passport number, it was filed a couple of months before I got my renewed one. Its hard to say what constitutes an error... I mean, it wasn't an error at the time.

I know what you mean Nick, when I first got the new passport, I asked if I needed to tell anyone the new info, and they said no, just tell them when you get there. But now with this new website booking system, it all changed on me mid process, it's very confusing. When I get a reply from infounit, I'll let you know what they say, hopefully it could save someone else the bother in future.

I had an "error" on my DS-260 in that after I had filled it in, I subsequently made another visit to US so my previous visits section was incorrect. I sent an email to the London Embassy via he online form asking whether I should submit a new form (knowing that the answer would probably be "no") and they wrote back and said no, you can raise it with the CO at the interview. So I printed that email and took it with me as proof that I had at least raised the question and not tried to "hide" anything. The CO at the interview had obviously seen the correspondence in the file when I got to my interview. So my advice would be to ask the question and follow the advice given, then print out all the correspondence and take it with you to the interview. Edited by Seppi
