I am thinking USCIS got tired of us calling and went through and did a mass updating. I am sure anyone who didn't have theirs working in the past few months will be getting updates soon. I know some sent theirs after Janice/I did and got updated first, so it doesn't seem like they are going in any order but grabbing a few million files (exaggeration) and updating. I heard someone mention before in another thread, that USCIS was updating to a new system, possibly that update went through and they can now update the case files to show.

I sure hope others get the peace of mind the updates gave me!! :)

We got a "soft touch" as well on Sunday, July 24. I was wondering if that just an auto update like the system back up on a regular basis... Sorry it is the IT auditor in me.. ?

:( I'm sorry about this issue. I can't add on what happened in this particular instance although there are reports on VisaJourney if you search for them. Perhaps type the exact wording of letter into the VisaJourney search facility and perhaps also in a search engine of your choice.

However, I know enough about fingerprints from some research on them. This can offer me the opportunity to speculate which I appreciate might not be useful in your case. Sometimes fingerprints are not taken correctly. Amongst casual fingerprints, this crops up sometimes amongst people who are in the healthcare field and are required to wash their hands very regularly after touching equipment, engaging in particular procedure or treating patients. Equally, it may be that the biometrics technician didn't take the fingerprints properly (though they should be able to do it properly and without issue given that they are thoroughly trained).

Hopefully, this is an easy issue to fix simply by getting the fingerprints done again. The information that get from your search (or subsequent advice here will be much more useful than my musings though.

Good luck, and love.

Simon.

P.S. I was involved in some research trying to find alternatives to fingerprints. This is because i) fingerprints are not entirely unique and ii) there are a number of scenarios where fingerprints are unavailable or misleading. There is some interesting research out there.

It's just so frustrating as it took them a month to tell me something was wrong !!

I guess I'll never know and just have to hope for the best this time round.

We filed our AOS papers back in early June, receipt date June 6 and check cashed on June 9. Biometrics was on July 8 in Oakland, CA and went smooth. All three cases finally showed up online today so at least we can get e-mail and text notices. I was also able to enter info in the "Case Tracker" app on my iPhone. Thanks to the Visa Journey site, we were able to be patient because others had also reported that their cases hadn't shown up either. Hopefully things will get rolling and EAD and AP card will come soon. My wife is anxious to start working since she has been idle for sometime now. Good luck to all filers.
