That is beyond ridiculous. It's been approved and doing nothing for more than a year? I would be livid and someone on the other end of that phone would either be crying or soiling themself. I'd definitely do what Ryan H suggests, along with calling them and asking to speak to a supervisor. You don't have a timeline though, so we don't know if this is, like... 12 checklists or something (which would be insane).

They have had our documents for months and everything has been paid for, the site only says that our case is at the NVC, but they were supposed to schedule our interview appointment in Rio de Janeiro months ago.

I know, im almost pulling my hair out! Only problem is, is that i live with my husband in brazil at the moment, and its super expensive to call them and be waiting on hold for an hour, cuz here we buy phone credits and once they end your phone call is gone, so i cant risk that, its awful, they keep saying its due to high volume of clients that its taking so long, but i see other people already with their visa in the united states and we started at the same time.

:time: thank you.

I have to figure out how  lol sorry

Try using skype to call, their phone cedits are pretty good.

Call early or late.

If you have a CC at the NVC and no interview dage yet, contact your local consulate or embassy and see what can be done from there. Keep on a senator or congressman until they can help you.

Is your Internet decent? Try signing up for Skype or something VOIP - I can't remember the name of the others, Freetone I think? That should significantly reduce the cost.

To fill in the timeline, go to your profile http://www.visajourney.com/forums/user/236445-stephaniedasilva/ and about halfway down under "Immigration Info" there should be a little timeline link.

Regardless, best of luck with this. I'm not even in your situation and I'm infuriated by it :ranting:

If you have gmail account you can call free its like being in US. You need to request a supervisor and and ask why has it been XXX months since your last documents sent in.

You say you were waiting on interview date. But you need case complete for that.

You say approved since April 2015 do you mean approved at USCIS? What was your NVC Case Complete date? When did you send your AOS and IV documents in?

Are you sure no checklist emails were sent?

Hi Stephanie,

I am also from Brazil and my petition I-130 was approved December of 2015, my case went to NVC and I had no problems at all. Right now, when I check the status on https://ceac.state.gov/ it says it is ready for an interview. I have called NVC many times using skype. It is cheap!! You should call them around 8am Brazilian time. When did you send all the required document? What is your current status at https://ceac.state.gov/ ?

I know, im almost pulling my hair out! Only problem is, is that i live with my husband in brazil at the moment, and its super expensive to call them and be waiting on hold for an hour, cuz here we buy phone credits and once they end your phone call is gone, so i cant risk that, its awful, they keep saying its due to high volume of clients that its taking so long, but i see other people already with their visa in the united states and we started at the same time.
