Hey guys,

I just wanted to know because it is driving me crazy why does applicants who has their fiance(e) from Egypt takes centuries till they have their interview ESPECIALLY people who were unfortunately assigned to Texas Service Center.

Is it because they didn't adhere to the VisaJourney guide for example so the majority got an RFE? Because there are stats on the timeline of people processing their application in a normal amount of time like the rest of the people so maybe those applicants prepared their applications perfectly as the guide says?

Is it because it is an Arab Muslim country with a higher possibility of terrorism? I'm real here and I understand the concern, but shouldn't that affect the interview and the decision making stage (AKA Administrative processing)? Why does the Texas Service Center takes so freakin much time?

I see filers from the same month finishing all their application in 4-5 months period and they already got their interview date! Of course I won't even try to discuss the months upon months of waiting AFTER the interview for the nightmare which is AP.

I just want to understand why Texas Service Center is a pain in the butt for people who apply for their fiance(e) from Egypt. California is more or less as normal as other countries, but Texas is just insane (Even though in California, there was an application which took 769 days!!!)

Just take a look at the pictures below, it is horrible, it is ALMOST as much wait as for IR1/CR1 visa not to mention AGAIN the nightmare of the AP.

What I am hoping and praying for that those were because of the quality of the application wasn't good (They required RFE). Because I know my application is as identical as what VJ guide says, but it is a lot of strain to be on a long distance relationship and even though people says it is OKAY to travel on B1/B2 while the application on the process, but I won't risk it, it is so expensive to book a ticket from Egypt to the US let alone other costs.

People don't update their timelines.

And No one on K-1 have been to TX since March 27th 2015.

Thank you for your reply, Georgia.

I hope what you are saying is true and it is just the lack of updates from Egyptians that is the reason for all of this.

And I'm sorry what do you mean that there is no K-1 have been to TX since March 27th 2015. Is it only California now or what?

Your I-129F package is NOT at Texas so you also need to update your timeline.

Yes do to backlog in TX all applications are send to Cali for processing.

Again, thank you for your reply.

I already fixed that since we messaged but that just won't be updated to my public profile, I don't know why.

Do you have any idea/estimate when will the Texas backlog finish? I've a relative who is applying next August hopefully Texas won't still be accepting application and just transfer it to Cali

I don't think you understand what I'm trying to say. There are NO I-129F there are being sent to TX. Sending the application to the lockbox in TX is not the same as the TX service center.

The Lockbox sends the I-129F package to California. It's not transferred either.

Have you remembered to push the save button in the bottom?

Yes I did get what you are trying to say, but I assumed since you said it was because of a backlog, that Texas won't take new application till they get rid of the backlog, so I thought it was temporary because as I said a relative is planning to file in July/August 2016 and I wanted to know if TX service center would be back again or not

I do understand the difference between the TX lockbox and the service center. I hope you got what I meant to say as well, sorry btw, as English is my second language.

Yes, I did. In fact here is a screenshot of when I visit my timeline myself

Timeline says you are in California Service Center

All depends on number of applications recevied and yes, takes longer if from a muslim country

ask adiljeanne from Morocco

the whole process took them several years

ask others from muslim countres just exactly what they did (besides praying) to get thru this process

I do know many K1 visa applicaitions from these countries get denied

I wish you good luck but you need a whole lot of patience

I finally managed to change it to California successfully now even on my public profile not just timeline.

What I found weird that it shouldn't take longer even from a Muslim country in the service center, it should just be more strict at the interview and maybe a longer AP than normal which is already applied here.

Hopefully my application won't be denied, although there is difference in religion but we are both open-minded in that and frankly I don't care what my partner religion is, that's her personal and private matter. What matters is that it is a genuine relationship and I already front-loaded it with all evidence possible as VJ guide said. I guess my interview later on with the CO will solidify that and hopefully s/he will approve me as I read a lot of stories about people with different religious backgrounds and they still got approved.

Don't worry, I'm not just praying.

Again thank you for your help and good luck with your application as well.

My fiance is Muslim and from Iraq, and our process has been extremely quick. We applied in January and our interview is May 22nd. I think it depends more on the individuals being screened. He has a master's degree from the US, but currently lives in Kurdistan. So that may have helped.

I don't think its productive to try to guess why some take longer than others. There's many factors at play.

Whatever you do, don't compare the Cairo embassy with other countries. Each country's embassy has a slightly different process.

I can tell you that the Cairo embassy recently improved their system for scheduling interviews so that part seems to be moving faster than it once was.

AP well that's another story...patience is key.
