I-751 May 2016 Filers

I just called and ask for a service request. My receipt date is May 6th. I am slightly concerned that I am going to get an RFE because of what the officer said. She said that they are still working on my case and they will respond by Jan 21st by email or regular mail.

The fact that she said by email or regular mail made me paranoid that she saw I was getting an RFE or interview. Would she just tell me if that was the case? I am probabaly over thinking it, I know.

I need some opinions please!

I field my joint  i751 through with help of our lawyer. We submitted our 3 years of taxes , joint utility bills , health care through my wife , 3 years of car insurance , 3 years or lease same address , letters from her friends and family ex: birthday parties invitations , weddings letters from neighbors.

30 Pictures our trip overseas and other activities ,Joint bank account. Letter from my wife that we entered our marriage in good faith and we still live happily. but i asked my lawyer if we need statments from the beginning since we opened our joint account because i do have them  he said No you have enough evidences. But i ended up including last recent one for checking and saving with one month transactions just incase . after we submitted everything i started reading online that people gets RFE for bank statments which my lawyer didnt even insists or bather to tell me about it to gather all bank statements. I'm very frustrated about it and paranoid right now . please any suggestions or opinions

Thank you

I have been with same lawyer since day one and im using him again for second time .

I got my green card on the 5th of January which they mailed last Dec. 30th..got approved on Dec. 27th so it was pretty fast for them to mail it to me..Next step, CITIZENSHIP!! goodluck everyone!!!

Did your status change from "new card ordered" to "card mailed" or did it stay the same until you receive the card in the mail?

thanks

It seems that a lot of people have RFE for not giving bank statements since you became a permanent resident.

But hey it's nothing to worry. If you get an RFE just reply with the bank statements.

It really bothers me that i hired a lawyer and he didn't even asked us for bank statements. I just want to done with this #######

Today I received a call from 646-822-0457 number and a person with accent was saying he is an USCIS immigration officer ,and he was following up my call to USCIS last week. He was asking me to wait for 4-5 months more and saying my case is ok. Just have to wait. The number doesn't seem a gov office number and it was Saturday he called at.

He just asked my last name, my attorney's address ( who is legal representative) and my DOB.

Any body else has he same experience?

Sounds weird, if somebody calls you like this, don't give any identifying info, especially Social Security number or anything like that. Could be a scam of some kind. 646 is a pretty recent NYC area code that's assigned to cell phones and such, most probably would not be an area code assigned to a work number of any kind, especially not one from VSC or CSC. Though I guess it could be assigned to a land line now that 212 is all pretty much exhausted for Manhattan phone numbers.

I'd be a little ticked off with my lawyer if they gave me this advice.  It is always wise to send everything that you might have as evidence in your packet.  Better to send more than less, especially when it comes to crucial things like financial documents like bank statements.  This is especially since you had the statements on hand and it's not like you didn't have the evidence to submit.

Anyways, a little too late now.  All you can do is hope that they find the evidence you have turned in satisfactory and that they approve your case.  Worst case scenario, you will get an RFE for the bank statements, which you can them submit at that time.  I would not try to send in anything right now as that might just cause more confusion.

My USCIS Journey...

I had an I-485 filing already submitted through an employment-based application. Post-marriage, I submitted an I-130, which after being approved was interfiled with the existing I-485.

Interfiling/AOS Timeline:

01/03/14 - Day 274 - Interfiling request received by USCIS

04/03/14 - Day 364 - Interfiling service request sent

04/30/14 - Day 391 - Second interfiling service request sent

05/19/14 - Day 410 - Email sent asking for case status update

06/04/14 - Day 426 - Response received that I-485 was transferred to NBC

06/05/14 - Day 427 - I-485 updated to "sent to local office for processing"

07/02/14 - Day 454 - Status changed to testing & interview. Interview date August 4!!

08/04/14 - Day 487 - Mini-Stokes interview. IO intended on approving AOS but the computer did not show I-130 approval. The wait goes on...

08/18/14 - Day 501 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 is approved but no card prodn ordered. Asked to call back in 2 weeks if no update.

08/29/14 - Day 512 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 was not approved yet, but my file was with an IO for a decision

I would be extremely leery about sharing any information whatsoever in this situation.  In my experience, USCIS never calls back, unless you call in on a service request and opt to have someone call you back as opposed to waiting on hold on the phone.  Fraudulent calls related to immigration are about the most widespread of scams out there.
